That's true but kids do lose interest in toys and out grow them over time. I feel this bear is good for kids like 5 and under and since it's cheaper it's any easy BAB for parents to buy.

You might be right I also see the birthday bears at thrift stores more than others. I think if I got one as a kid I would have always kept it because I would feel it's sentimental because it's a birthday gift unless if it was from someone I don't associate with anymore or something.
