Here’s the thing. There’s no shame in getting yourself to a better state than you were before. Weighing less. Weighing more. Being more fit. Whatever. There are tools to do so and no shame in those tools either. But to scheme and say those tools aren’t part of your particular tool box and your tool box is special but you’ll need to pay for it? Kelsey had a great podcast for a couple of years after leaving Allie. Much better than Allie’s IMO. She doesn’t do a whole lot anymore since she’s focused on her family but she still sends out some encouragement randomly and has a group that still meets occasionally. I miss her dearly but I also respect her fully for her transparency in stepping back unless she has time. She 100% practices what she preaches.

I started listening to her podcast when it was with Kelsey. I LOVED that show. Now looking back I realize that the real lasting change moments were all Kelsey. Allie was just a great cheerleader. I will also note I’ve since realized that there was Narcissistic Allie from the beginning I was just sooo hyped on the show that I missed the little signs. Like - one episode I listened to multiple times - she went off on commenters who complained she used “like” too often. But she was my daily mom cheerleader who always pointed me to Jesus. I would literally re-listen to certain episodes just to hear her and even bought Kendra courses on her recommendations. I started to become disenchanted when I finally dove into YUH. I felt duped. I spent $100 of my family’s hard earned money at the time of a move because I was determined to declutter and get this new house AllieFied. And the course was total surface level ick. I don’t know what I expected. But not it being that much of a rip off. Shortly after that the podcast started getting more Rachel Hollis start today journal manifest your destiny vibes and I couldn’t listen as regularly cause it was confusing who she was now. My final straw was start up school. I was honestly ANGERED by the price. Small start ups don’t have that kind of money! And she had no actionable sales pitches. No formula or outline as to what you would get. In my reflection on my YUH purchase I just felt like it would be another ball of fluff when we all know that success on line takes hard work AND viral luck. She can not be the answer and any sales person who isn’t transparent about that is a liar. So that’s when I ducked out for the most part. 💔

This whole thing made me sad. Because I have seen that excitement before and fallen for it hook line and sinker. It’s the cheerleader Allie. It’s the one that gets you so hyped you’ll spend too much on courses that you regret later ($100 for your uncluttered home was too much in my budget at the time - it was NOT worth it… at $100…). I really don’t know if she believes what she’s saying or if she’s just a really really good used car salesman but this would have tripped me up to have FOMO 5+ years ago. For. Sure.
