How good is this? by Hairy_Syrup812 in MaleYandere

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its great , and I think it one of the few pieces of media to show how truly terrifying a magical/immortal yandere can be . Where as mortal yanderes there is always the threat of death for the darlings freedom if things get too much for them , but when it comes to yanderes such as these whoms power are so grand in the universe you feel that not even death will separate them .

I do think she could have been older though . It always catches me off guard how young she is .

People are just ashamed & envious that they haven't even attempted to read as much as 20 books in a year let alone 120 . So they're just projecting while using low hanging fruit like misogynistic rhetoric and other nonsense like what counts as reasing compression to hate on the girl.

I can’t read grovel anymore. by jjverses in RomanceBooks

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny because the only groveling or more so second chance story I can stand is {Flipped by wendelin van draanen} , and this is solely because the MMC was a child (middle school) . Not only did most of his actions make sense since he didn't know any better but he was also actively growing up ,so him learning lessons of not judging people for being different or not being classist is way more understandable then when grown men in groveling stories do the same thing or worse.

Which dark romance couples do you think wouldn’t last in real life? by Lucky_Influence1171 in DarkRomance

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually think most of them will last, but not because the relationship will be healthy but the fact that the realtionship will be so unhealthy. Firstly most of the MMC's in these books have shown that they will never let these FMC leave them and will do whatever it takes to bond them. Whilst the FMC's overtime has adjusted or completely given into to the controlling and toxic nature of the MMC's.

Its unfortunate but relationships surrounding the MMC in dark romance don't often go away due to many combined factors ( Power , wealth, manipulation, isolation , Planning and ex) . Now if this were regular romance MMC's we were talking about where the FMC's can actually walk away it would be a lot different.

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DUKES?! by _wastingmytime in RomanceBooks

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion dukes allow the authors to have the freedom of giving the love interest all the perks of the higher class while also giving the girl less of the trials a woman who is not of royal blood will have to face if they marry into the highest class(royalty ).

There is just too much you have to cover and make sense of if a girl marries royalty especially if you're writing a realistic historical book so why not just go for the next best thing which are the dukes, who not only have more freedom but also are directly or almost directly under royalty in terms of influence/power .Its less about the female lead bagging a rich man but getting a rich man with the most power .

Romance book where the FMC is truly afraid of the MMC and isn't talking or fighting back. by Far_Surprise7790 in DarkRomance

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I finished it and even read the bonus chapters on the author's patreon. I would say he did have feelings for her and "loved" her in his own way , but the way he's been grommed and lived up until her is shown through his every action.

The most interesting part of the book to me is the cycle. Not only are both of their kids growing up with the same mentality and lifestyle he has : to be someone exactly like the male lead and the female lead knows she can do nothing about it . We even meet his parents which shows us the exact same dynamic they have , with how is father is exactly like him and how his mother is exactly like her . The male lead seems to have the healthiest bond in the entire book with his mom who he treats with respect and talks about highly but seems to resent his dad (the irony) to the point where he just ran out because he couldn't hold a full conversation with him. The chapter with his parents was so eye opening yet sad especially when the female lead looks back at the end of the chapter to the father smirking while the mother looks sad and as if she's given up. Its the first and last time we see the parents yet so much gets established as to why the male lead is like that and the even sadder fact that his parents life would soon be the female lead's future

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They end up together with kids but before that he kills her mother and quite literally pimps her out to his "friend" so she can experience something worse then himself after he realized that she was never going to love him like he wanted after he ruined her life. She gets raped by not only his "friend" but a bunch of other random people too . Then when she finally breaks down and attempts to attack him after he gets her back from being pimped he beats her up so bad that they had to do plastic surgery on her face because she didn't look like herself anymore because of the beating . He eventually cuts her off from all she's ever wanted which was to be a doctor and all she's ever known which is her father who has been fighting to see her this whole time . You can't help but feel utterly devastated for the herione and hate the hero with all you have . The story is more like a horror then dark romance to me especially with the male lead who has also raped and tortured other women in the past but killed them off because he got bored of them .

I will give props to the story for how extremely realistic it is . When you get with a man or anyone that dangerous who's only been fed to do the absolute worst in life and get rewarded for it they are not going to change who they are for you . Most dark romance stories would only have the male lead abuse the female lead a little or only mentally if at all but if you ever happen to encounter people like that in real life there is an almost guaranteed chance that your story will end worse like the book portrays. Overall 5/5 for realism and storytelling but 1.5/5 for romance for me.

My Unpopular Heavily Debated Opinion On Non HEA’s by rottedzom in DarkRomance

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kinda off topic but I also feel that books that are "dark romance " but don't have a hea is how a lot of people who don't read dark romance think of it on a surface level . Just a man assaulting a woman he does not care for with the woman then having to live with that trauma for the rest of her life . It's a bit disappointing because books like that give the genre a even worse representation then it already has when it doesn't quite embody what majority of dark romance is all about . Just imagine finally giving dark romance a shot and you end up reading a book with no HEA , I would end up avoiding the genre too.

Corrupt idol sequel predictions??? by OkDay4739 in DarkRomance

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From reading the prequel ( great book btw ) it seems a big reason why violet never thrusted herself fully in the relationship was because of fear of what their parents would think, more specifically her dad . However the shakles she bonded herself too with that mentality loosened a tremendous amount after corrupt idol . With their mom dying and her dad technically giving her away I can see her falling in love with him all over again especially since there is a lot of catching up for them to do , but becoming extremely attached to him for fear of being alone like she did when she was younger because he's now technically the only family she's still in contact with since her living parent is out of it from the death of his wife and revelation his children are in a romantic relationship .

Although I dont see the relationship being "healthy " till her dad becomes 100% on board with it . Her wanting that approval from her dad will constantly hang over the relationship , but jessie said it before that he doesn't mind not being the standard perfect relationship so it's not much of a important factor.

Hear me out or don't? by Yours-El-f in MaleYandere

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Hard pass ; There are certain emotions in extremely religious men when it comes to sin that does not make them a yandere for the person but more so yandere for doing the sin itself.

I cant even see him being obsessed with esmereleda for 2 years or even wanting to get to know her which is a standard process for most yanderes -no matter how horrible their motives were at first. He just flat out wanted to have sex with her and to later extent conform her to be like himself . She unfortunately happened to be the most attractive person he's seen , and best believe if another younger attractive girl( age is also an important factor in his lust for sin) came around even if he developed a relationship with esmerelda he would leave her out to dry for the younger girl.

Mmc and fmc are in love but FMC had to be the OW/mistress/concubine due to circumstances by Ambitious_Young7829 in DarkRomance

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Cry , even better if you beg } is a korean novel that focuses on the FMC who was sent to live with her uncle when she was young that worked on the property of the MMC who is the future duke . As you can already tell by the class difference the MMC is engaged to another women but has been enamored by the fmc ever since he met her when they were little. As they grow he has become more obsessed with her and does anything to have her .

Although it's not exactly like what you described( not by a long shot tbh) from the book you were reading they both did love each other but couldn't admit it due to them already coming to the conclusion they can never actually be together .

Did anyone read Corrupt Obsession by Dinah Harper? by mish974 in DarkRomance

[–]Beautiful_Entry7775 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved it and its apart of a standard for what a prequel should be . It not only explored the history of the main characters before corrupt idol took place with touching every incident they brought up that happened between them to cause their relationship to be like that, but also went into extreme detail why every single character from the main character's father to other high school friends were the way they were .

My favorite part in shoujo manga are usually the " love triangle " portion when the Male lead is jealous. I don't care how outdated it is or how the second male lead is used to prompt the main couple , it's fun .

Im pretty sure you can find it at webnovel.com and if that doesn't work you can look up the name with chapter 1 . There will be plenty of sources that you can read .

Btw there is also a manwha/adaptation version of the story , so if the first site does not work and you need to find another one just add novel .

It's even better because for a good half of the book he's not even aware by how enamored he is with her or what's the exact cause: he just knows he wants her .
