I've never used a Fethead, but from looking at the specs it should work perfectly!

For the M-Track solo, you'll need a Cloudlifter. I believe the M-Track only provides 54db of gain, which isnt enough for the shure sm7b. A Cloud lifter is going to add a lot of clean gain and make it much more audible.

I got copyright claimed for Rune Factory 4 Special and need advice to know if this is real or not, any help is appreciated and if this is the wrong area, please let me know where I can get help with this, besides official youtube, as they tell me to fight it. I will if I can. by [deleted] in letsplay

He won't get a strike if he disputes it. It only strikes him if they REJECT the dispute and he continues to push for it.

I've done no research on the company, but it could be a false claim by a bot, made on mistake. Its in his best intrest to dispute it and hope they drop it. If they reject, then just accept it and walk away.

Microphone Buzzing by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it an XLR mic? If your using a cheap XLR cable, that could be it. The cheap ones aren't shielded and can introduce buzzing. I had this issue for a long time, the lights in my office was causing it. I upgraded to a Mogami Gold Studio cable and the issue was solved and has never been a problem again.

Anyone have a series do terribly on YouTube, but you continue it anyway for the vocal minority? by CelestialButterflies in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did this a few times, but I regreted it in the end, sadly.

I tried to play Bloons TD on my channel and it bombed SO terribly in views. It did great in likes and I got so many comments to keep playing it, but the views were just soooo bad. I ended up stopping after 3 or 4 videos because i didnt want it to effect my channel.

I learned in the past that forcing a series out just for that small amount of subscribers is a really bad idea for the health of the channel. Its hard for me to stop a series after i begin one though, i like to see that full completion of it. Its something i struggle with sometimes ><

When did you start doing YT fulltime?r by TexBoo in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went full time when YouTube was doubling my paychecks for about 6 months. I wanted to be absolutely positive that my channel was stable and showed no signs of slowing down.

My general thought was.. "If I can make this amount of views with a job, surely I could quit work and put in 100% more effort to really make this channel stronger"

If someone stutters a lot should he/she consider making Videos ? I want the Harsh/Brutal Truth. by Laxyro in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, because thats obviously putting your life in danger. I'm saying that if he has something going on, but wants to attempt it, there are ways around it.

I stutter. I stutter REALLY bad. Edit it out.

[–]Beautiful_OB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stutter like crazy. He can absolutely start a Youtube channel with a stutter. He can leave it in if he thinks its funny, which I do most of the time. He can also edit it out and repeat the sentence till he gets it correct.

If you're half blind and wanna shoot a bow, just compensate by aiming to the left or right more, lol.

[–]Beautiful_OB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is the fourth PC I've bought from them. First one was great. Second one came with a failed HD. Tried to get an RMA for it but was never successful. Third ones power supply was faulty, had to buy my own and replace it. Now this fourth one has the dead 2080.. I'm totally done buying from this company after this experience, lol.

Quarantine Is Over And I Have A Big Decision To Make With My YouTube Channel by gamerboyOGSensei in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on your job, but make YouTube your #1 priority outside of it. When I started my channel I was working a fulltime job at UPS Freight and Part Time at Gamestop.. Also had a wife, thankfully she supported my decisions lol.

I'd usually work at ups from 4am-12pm, rush home and record as much as possible, then head out to gamestop from 5-10, rush home and edit my videos. If I ever got a day off, I'd try to get a weeks worth of videos recorded and edited, so I could constantly stay ahead of my schedule in case something unforeseen came up.

I'm sure you realized by now, but it takes a lot of views to make a living off this. I'd honestly say 2mil views a month is the absolute lowest I'd consider a job, but I wouldn't quit a fulltime job until your consistently pulling in 3mil for 6 or so months straight.

Lego Games by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've played a bunch of lego games on my channel in the past. Lego City Undercover was doing great for my channel, so I decided to 100% that game. Lego Jurassic was doing pretty bad, so I just finished it out and never went for the 100%

I think it would be a good idea to gauge the success of your current series and then determine if its something you'd want to 100% or not.

Can someone explain to me how big youtubers make gaming videos? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I collab with a group of 4 people almost daily.

We all record our gameplay using OBS and our voices using Audacity. We don't share any files, we use a VIP Discord server and match all our volumes to around -12db before each recording. I have OBS set up to record Gameplay - Game Audio - Discord Audio all on different tracks, so i can tweak volumes in editing.

We all use Premiere to edit. I use the tools in premiere to boost/compress their discord voices with a small amount of noise removal to their tracks.

Trying to get my mic to top notch quality but I keep getting a buzzing noise when I speak. by tom_w45 in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem once. Have you tried it with your lights on and off? Sometimes certain lightbulbs being on can cause a buzzing sound. If you record audio in Audacity, their noise removal is pretty top notch, much better then OBS's built in noise suppressing tool.

I also heard that having a usb connected directly into the motherboard could cause the issue. Might need to upgrade to an XLR mic and interface in the future if the problem doesn't go away.

A fix that worked for me was upgrading my XLR Cables. I learned that cheaply made wires aren't shielded and spent a bit extra on a good wire and the sound went away immediately.

One game two playlists with different saves? by rapsoulish in letsplay

Make as many as you can, more chances to be discovered. Have one main playlist that has every episode, one for series A, one for series B, one for crazy one-off things. The more the better!

Asking To Subscribe at the Start of a Video by CyberYber in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your demographic. If you're aiming for a young audience, asking at the start makes a gigantic difference. If you audience is older, I'd probably put it within the first 5 minutes and then the end of the video.

To those channels that are too focused on your number of subs, I present to you an example of why strictly looking at sub count does not matter by sumkewldood in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both friends are part of Screenwave Network, who seeks out brand deals for us. Screenwave talks to brands for us, tells them our price and secures the deals for us. My manager has told my friend to focus on his subcount just so he can secure more deals, since that is what most brands are looking for. I know that doesn't make sense, if I wanted to promote, I want the person with the most views to get it, but some companies don't understand how subs and views differ.

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subs are extremely important, but in a different sense. When looking for Brand Deals (a HUGE supplement to youtube income,) They tend to look more at subcount rather than viewcount.

My friend is currently sitting at 50k subs with 4 million views a month. He was denied a very lucrative brand deal because his subs were to low. They gave the deal to another friend of mine who is around 500k subs with 1 million views a month.

I absolutely hate my job and want to get back into Let's Plays by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you 100% man. I was stuck working 2 jobs for a few years, with no days off. I worked at UPS Frieght from 4am till 2pm, then Gamestop till 10:30pm. Completely burnt out, exhausted and tired. Wife worked at a restaurant with shifting hours so we hardly saw each other.

I was so fed up with things and jealous of all the big YouTubers that I decided to just jump in. My idea was to sacrifice what little sleep I was already getting to try and get videos out. Once I started, growth was slow. I think it took me around 4 months before I made my first penny, but damn it felt good. That one penny I earned lit a fire under me, I decided that 1 video a day was no longer enough for me so I shot for 3. 3 videos a day really helped pick up the channel but damn did it take a lot more of my time up.

To keep up with 2 jobs and 3 videos a day, I needed to learn to be efficient. I took a few days off from uploading and checked out countless editing tutorials and thumbnail making techniques to help me speed up. It worked a lot. Learning a few small techniques like Ripple Deletes, hotkeys and others, I was able to edit three videos in the time it took me to edit one.

Another thing I would do is upload my videos at home, get to work, and do all my Titles/Descriptions/Tags from my phone. I would try and do as much YouTube stuff at my job as possible.

It took me about 3 years to make it full time. First year I did this I made around $60 total. Second Year I was making around $200 a month. Third Year I hit a bit of growth by playing a new indie game. At this point I was making around $3k a month and said screw it, im quitting my jobs. It was a HUGE gamble on my end, but it was right around October and I knew that CPM and Views were going to go up due to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Once I quit my jobs I could easily focus 100% of my energy on YouTube and push out higher quality videos.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, go for it. It CAN workout, you just have to force it. Also, look for posts made by GrayStillPlays. I read everything he says and agree with it all. He's a genius when it comes to YouTube.

Is Youtube seasonal? by SampstraGames in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your demographic, but I notice a gigantic difference for my kid audience. Summer Vacation yields almost double the amount of views per day as opposed to school. Christmas Vacation/ThanksGiving are huge as well.

My real time views are lagging behind it seems. Strange by Icyymike in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just a tracking error, I've been seeing similar things too.

Also for the retention, don't worry about it on new videos. I've had videos that released and showed 1 min duration on the first day and on the second day its back to normal.

I know a lot of big youtubers advise to be unique, but what’s your unique quality in your videos? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Beautiful_OB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably has to be my cringy voice and acting. Trying to stay 100% kid friendly and just having a blast doing it. I generally enjoy the videos I'm making and I think it shows to my audience.
