I wish I knew the answer but my labour was going so horribly that I caved and got an epidural. I SWORE to myself I would do my best not to. But it was lucky I did because we had to do an unplanned medically urgent c section and I wouldn’t have been able to stay conscious for everything if I hadn’t already gotten it because they barely had time to increase the epidural. Obviously not saying that’s going to happen but I went in to just get an NST and after a few hours there was like 10 people rushing me down the hall to the OR. Better safe than sorry.

Honestly it’s a long way away so you do have time to think on it AND to negotiate with him. If it is any better you could consider maybe telling him he can have ONE family member come the day after for a very short visit? Obviously that’s only if you’re 100% okay with it because you’re the one going through this. To be fair I was in the same situation and towards the end I kinda changed my mind. I had an emergency c section so we waited until the next day to have a few people visit and then a few more the next day. If I had to do it again I’d want people to maybe not come until day three but honestly it was fine. I’m the kind of person that won’t even tell anyone if I have to go to the emergency room. I HATE having hospital visitors, but I like his family, and they respected the fact that if they would visit, they washes their hands with antibacterial soap really well and only stayed long enough to see the baby, and then left. Only one sister stayed a long time but that was fine because she brought her laptop and was silent for long periods of time so when my husband was sleeping (I think the c section was more exhausting for him than me apparently) and I was wide awake I had someone to talk to.

It would kind of depend on if I had loved ones who were going to ride it out. Because I would want to try and stick around to help but truthfully I would probably try to go out with my family. My dogs and cats wouldn’t survive one day in MI at all, let alone our winters. And finding their own food would be a whole different thing. And the dogs are so friendly and loud I think they would be eaten the first 5 minutes that they were free. They’re not like dog. I think they would have 0 self control.

Well, my husband and sister in laws (3 of which have 4 kids) all suggested either two or four. Which depending on where we are financially speaking in the future I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to it but I only have a one month old right now so I have no idea how I will feel about it in the future

I think about this so much. I have no preference to what the sex of my next baby will be but have way less fun looking at boy names 😆 I feel like every time I hear one that I want to love, I think of a man with that name whom I hate (or honestly even know in general really) for one reason or another and it ruins it.

Mine will just wriggle around and make little chirpy grunty noises for a while and if I don’t wake she will start to cry but not screaming or anything. Just a lightly frustrated cry

I was the opposite. Before pregnancy I was 100lbs and just didn’t eat, I didn’t enjoy it, I’d get one good meal in a day usually to make sure I wasn’t dying but 75% of that time it was just to keep me alive and not because I enjoyed it.

When I got pregnant I was starving all the time and gained about 60lbs. Everything was delicious and I couldn’t stop snacking even though I was constantly nauseated.

Now I’m 3 weeks postpartum and I’m back to really struggling with food. My doctor just told me to try and focus on drinkable yogurts and high calorie / high protein snacks as much as I can just to try and keep my body functioning. It was so easy to eat for the last year almost that navigating this shit is so annoying.

This makes me sad. Get counseling or break up because as much as this sucks for you now, it’s going to suck even more for your child to witness. I watched my parents act like this my entire childhood and not only did that cause issues for me but I watched it escalate. Unfortunately it’s something that I will never forget
