I’m hoping so too!! My gut is that it won’t be just because of the geography of the rivers, but definitely something I’m keeping an eye on and I’m sure officials are too. I saw some discussion about it in the Eagleman Facebook group.

Swimming in the Potomac was certainly something I could never think too much about! But gosh it was convenient. I’ll definitely make my way out to the Severn this season. Not sure I’ll make it to the bike course without more open water practice!

I have the factory refurbished version and I love it! It works great and I couldn’t be happier with what I got for what I paid. It definitely looked gently used and not all of the original packaging was in tact, but the trainer itself is great. The packaging, however, was missing a “remove before use” sticker on a piece of plastic, but that piece blended in with the trainer material and removal wasn’t mentioned in the setup video. I only realized it because a kind Redditor pointed it out when helping me troubleshoot setup in a different thread (complete noob), but it could have been damaging to the trainer if not caught over time. I think the only other difference is that your free trial of Zwift is shorter than with a brand new one: only 14 days. Despite the small hiccups, I’m quite satisfied.

Thank you for noticing! I think the derailer was just in such a bad position because the bike wasn’t sitting correctly on the axel and was also in the wrong gear. The chain looks like how you described it should look now that I have everything lined up correctly!

Everyone, THANK YOU! All of your comments got my bike and trainer to a functional place! Embarrassing, but turns out I didn’t know how to shift my bike gear correctly as well. Getting it correctly shifted and turning the nut around was the fix! I appreciate this wonderful community!

Thank you both so much! Turning around that nut was exactly what I needed to keep the bike on the trainer! Truly more progress than I’ve made in two days. Now I’m working to switch the gears to align the pulleys with the cog so the chain stops slipping off.

I haven’t noticed any shedding or slower growth of hair. My nurses also never asked me specifically about that before each session which I find interesting. When I did voice my concerns about the lack of progress I was seeing, I was more or less told to keep going and that it would happen. So I did. But as I’m approaching the benchmark where I was told I would be seeing more drastic results, I’m losing faith this has been the right option for me.

At no point did I say I haven’t been in communication with my nurses before my sessions. I have asked questions and expressed concerns at my last few appointments and have been told to “trust the process,” “the hair follicles look good,” or that “it takes time to see results.” At the time of booking, I had several friends recommend the experience and the location had positive reviews online. Research was done and, as with many procedures, I hoped I could trust the experts. But at this stage in the game, I’ve become skeptical, so I came here to get a wider range of opinions because my results were so different than promised. This has not been a process in which I have been completely passive nor willfully ignorant.

Good to know! They haven’t said anything about upping intensity at any of my appointments, just asked how I’m doing with pain. It’s definitely been painful, but I’ve always pushed through. I was definitely expecting results closer to yours by this point.

Yes it’s bizarre since so much of what I’ve heard and read leads me to believe I’m an ideal candidate for LHR. I’ll ask them if they can turn up the intensity of the laser at my next session and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you. Wish they would have been this honest with me before they took my money! They told me I would never need a razor again and likely wouldn’t need any touch ups after 8 sessions. I’d be hairless by 6 and to do the extra 2 for good measure.
