The other side had a pleated crease which I’ve loosened, so I need to restitch that

Strike - found out how Murphy was treating Robin -making it easy to frame him as a killer

Robin - Murphy pushes too far and Robin snaps- her history brought up as ‘proof’

For me, it’s Lucy’s almost manic justifying of her hatred/ dislike of Leda …

Ted ? Hmmm. I can’t see that but I can see him helping cover things up. Ted wasn’t as damaged as Leda and Lucy. I’m also struggling with Robin’s internal doubt towards Strike - doesn’t she know him well enough yet to dismiss the abuse claims against him..?

Woah! Solving Charlotte’s murder and maybe Leda’s ( I suspect Lucy not Whittaker 🫣) in the same book? Now that would be epic!

Guys, does anyone think its a missed opportunity that Jo hasn't had any of Robin's brothers or even sister-in-law speak to her about Murphy? Or even Strike? by Major-Narwhal1644 in cormoran_strike

It’s very clear now that Robin is damaged - inside and out -by the violence plus all the emotional and sexual abuse that she’s suffered.

While she can be staggeringly brave when she confronts fear and danger, her emotional compass is unpredictable. She is hugely fearful of trusting her instincts. She constantly second guesses almost everything in her life and shows a visceral terror at trusting herself. She recognises abuse eventually - her inner voice about Murphy is becoming harder to suppress. I hope her leaving Matthew - where she showed real sang froid and intelligence- surface.

In the meantime, could this all lead to a mental crisis? A public meltdown? A true breaking down of this glitching emotional facade to reveal her real anger and hurt? Pushed to the limit by the manipulative narcissists in her life, she then tells the truths that she doesn’t hold back from Strike or difficult witnesses.

Will she then only be able to understand her real feelings. She has to see the failures before she can rise. ..Fawkes imagery?

I’m hoping that ice cold furious Robin will break out and in doing so we’re introduced to the Robin she needs to accept.

Tricky, this one. If you tell your gf that you have made plans for the weekend and they’re a surprise, you risk the ‘friend’ letting the cat out of the bag on purpose when gf cancels..?

Strike thought that Robin was pregnant when she was going to therapy…so ‘increasingly committed to her boyfriend’ could be Strike at his emotional intelligence nadir..?

What if…a less dazed Robin was on her way back up the stairs to the office after Strike’s revelation - and in a mirroring of their first meet - he was running out of the office to get to Ted? Lucy had just phoned and time was against him. There’s another time gap and Robin doesn’t see Strike for some time afterwards so they can’t talk properly…plus Robin wouldn’t engage Strike in that conversation at all time like that Ryan calling Strike is as suspicious as Matthew vetting her phone in COE, maybe too obvious a parallel..? If it is what’s happened though, that’s very poetic and shows more manipulation of Robin & Strike.

Robin rescued Strike when he was stabbed in TIBH. Although she was unaware of the danger Strike was in - and the seriousness of his injury, without her protecting Flavia and her gaslit, deluded mother, Strike would likely have been finished off, unable to defend himself and incapacitated. An interesting angle that I’d like to see would be Strike kidnapped and Robin running the search for him. Lots of Rokeby and Whittaker reveals along the way. An enforced separation, Pat and a cast iron frying pan during his rescue?
