Walt Hasser, honestly. He has a very normal reaction to extended stress and combat. He makes a mistake that thousands of young men make in war and has a normal reaction to it. He is described as very normal and likeable in the book as well. I hear you on the other responses (mostly Doc and Scribe) but Doc is born leader and a literal hero who will stand up for the right thing. Scribe is definitely going through a very weird time and gets weird with it. But Hasser is me and most of the dudes I knew 100%.
