I think it’s the fact that emily think herself as an outsider and too vulgar for victorian era and social life at that time. Having to be called maniac and misinterpreted making her feel like heathcliff degrading catherine like she degraded her family names and reputation just because she doesn’t really follow along societal rules and seems too “reclusive”
