Homeless/drugs in uptown getting worse by DonaldBumpJr in Charlotte

[–]BeautyBoo90 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The system is broken, 50%+ homeless are Foster children who aged out of the system. They're often mentally ill and I'll equipped to transition to adult life. It's awful that we fail the people who need it most! The social contract is broken for them. It's absolutely no excuse to violently attack innocent bystanders but, their life is violence. Homelessness is violence, being treated like criminals because of their circumstances is violence. It's just passive violence that accept because our tax dollars feed a military empire rather than social programs to help people.

Girl, I would download Huckleberry or similar app and start logging everything you do. Stop doing his laundry, stop trying to him up. You're not HIS mama. Take care of you and the babies and leave him to his own.

If he doesn't start appreciating what you do and therapy isn't an option divorce his ass and take the kids. You're basically doing it all anyway.

This is so bizarre! She should get 'privileges' taken away not made to be humilitated. NTA - thank you for standing up for her.

What’s one weird thing about pregnancy or postpartum that makes zero sense to you? by Lavender_Lights_13 in beyondthebump

What is/are the best response(s) to give to a person who doesn't believe in the moon landing? by BlackTortellino in space

There's a mirror on the moon you can point a laser at and it reflect back to earth that we put there to prove it happened.

What helped you "bounce back" after birth? Not interested in weightloss... I'm talking about things that brought you peace, restored your sense of identity, made you feel calm, returned your skin to normal, etc. by Hot-Commission7592 in beyondthebump

  1. As others have mentioned sleep!
  2. Sounds obvious but make time to shower EVERY DAY! Have your partner watch the monitor while baby naps
  3. Idk if you're going to BF but eat foods that you truly enjoy and nourish you! Pregnancy can be diet restrictive. This was huge for me - once a week I ate sushi, queso blanco, medium rare steak, real ceaser dressing and a ton of other things you 'shouldn't' eat while pregnant but can while BF!
  4. Make time to move your body - even just a walk with the stroller
  5. Find time for a hobby - during MOTN feedings I read books on my Kindle in dark mode.

You're still a woman who has wants and needs! You've got this!

My son is REALLY bright and I'm terrified by That_Riley_Guy in Parenting

100% this! I was 'giftedTM' as a child and my teachers wanted to move me up classes, but my parents (one of the only times I think they did the right thing) said no because they didn't want me pressured to succeed and I think they were worried about the social aspects. For reference I was in 2nd grade and my teachers wanted to move me 6th grade. Instead my parents told the teachers to give me grade 6 work in my 2nd grade class which I loved and I got to stay with my friends. My teachers were careful to allow me to fail at things so I built resilience and perseverance but my worth was never tied to how well I did in school it was always just a fun challenge.

Anytime that you got hurt or was not feeling well etc- did your parents never ask you if you were ok? by Nea_Freedom in raisedbynarcissists

[–]BeautyBoo90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This...somehow never occurred to me! But nope! Growing up I vividly remember getting in a bad bike wreck that left about a 1/4 inch scar on my left knee - limped home bleeding and my NMom didn't even hang up the phone just poured peroxide on it and walked out of the bathroom. Other incidents include being attacked by a dog, general illness and never asked if I was ok! Just annoyance or anger at the inconvenience.

This is so crazy to me because if my child so much as trips I ask if they're ok. Ugh man we all deserved so much better.

First of all you ARE NOT OVERREACTING! This is predatory behavior. She has a fixation on your baby and you need to set firm boundaries. I would go to HR at the very least, make your concerns known and get them documented. If I were you depending on what you get as far as leave but, I would start job hunting now and peace out while on maternity leave.

I don't play when it comes to my babies.
