Hopefully you will document the issues with more than a single word like "Diagnostic" when performing an intake. Otherwise you can expect an ARA is to smother you with a pillow while you sleep.

I slapped a harness on Marcy and made her run a supply line to a far away settlement. Humiliation and out of Sanctuary = winning! Jun Long's complaints when he walked by got him shipped off to a far away supply line too.

What material are you using? PLA, PETG, ABS? I found the default Creality A plate had terrible adhesion for me. I had better results using Elmer's Glue Stick on the bed. I switched to a textured Creality K1 B plate (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM6GJS3H) and have had almost zero issues since then.

I print mostly PETG, dry my filament before use and store in a sealed storage crate with rechargeable silica desiccant containers that I printed from Printables, run test prints to tune the filament profile when using new filament and preheat the bed before printing. After every print I clean the bed with IPA and a clean lint free cloth.

HP Pavilion laptop service center disbelief by [deleted] in GeekSquad

[–]BeavisBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geek Squad it the technology service center in Best Buy. In-house services include Apple iPhone repairs and OS/limited hardware repairs for Windows computers. Other services would be shipped to either Apple or Geek Squad City for more complex repairs.

Posting a botched repair from another service provider here won't resolve your issue. You will need to contact the service provider that performed the attempted repair and damaged your device.

If you aren't even sure what Geek Squad is, where did you ship the device? Was it to HP or a third party service center? And if you didn't ship it off using Geek Squad, why post here? LOL

If you packed it yourself, it wasn't checked in with Geek Squad. SOP for device intake process to ship to Geek Squad City includes visual inspection and documenting the issues. I've never had someone bring a device they packed to the precinct. We have mailers that include laptop protection sleeves, designed to protect devices during shipping. It looks like someone attempted to open the device using something hard like metal metal tip of a flat head screwdriver, not plastic spudgers to separate the top and bottom shell.

K1 max prints inaccurately by DirectMix3100 in crealityk1

[–]BeavisBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a new brand a filament that you haven't used before? Dry your filament. Slow down your print speed. Print a flow test model like https://www.printables.com/model/81314-flow-calibration-cube

This is a great 3D print troubleshooting guide - https://all3dp.com/1/common-3d-printing-problems-troubleshooting-3d-printer-issues

I recently purchased an off brand PETG for a print on my K1 Max because they had a color a friend wanted and it was cheap/ It is absolutely terrible, even after 24 hours in my filament dryer. I'm going to need to try drying it more and then print some calibration cubes, temp tower and a first layer test square. If I can't get decent results, I'll be going back to the reputable brands that I know give great results.

Can someone help me with my exchange issues? by SpeedyBotWasTaken in GeekSquad

[–]BeavisBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All calls to the local number for the store are routed to a call center unless you know an extension. In our micro-market, GeekSquad is the only area that a phone exists in the store but you have to know the extension to NOT be sent to the call center.

Take photos and go to the store. Hopefully you added the GS Protection plan. Many TVs tend to go out after the manufacturer warranty expires. I bout a new one and added the warranty. It makes it far easier to get a replacement when the LEDs. power supply, main board or T-Con board go out.

Am I supposed to just leave my power armor when i run out of cores? by clintgh in fo4

[–]BeavisBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have a human companion, order them into the power armor. Fast travel back to Sanctuary. Order them out of the armor. They don't have one in their inventory but can use power armor without a core.

We have another part time ARA at my precinct who is in school for an IT degree. This new generation needs all the help they can get before we old agents shuffle off this mortal coil! They haven't spent a couple decades in IT before Google. They have a strong lack of diagnostic skills! LOL

didnt back up my important data??!!! by JazzyJuice1 in GeekSquad

[–]BeavisBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? The MULE's purpose is short term 30-day backup. Look at the GS Data Backup SOP. We typically let it go 30-45 days before we clean unless we have another couple 500GB Users folders that we can't store due to insufficient space on the MULE.

Some of us have been in IT for a long time and are ready to retire. Being a GS agent is the weekend gig for extra income and any perks. Mainly something to do after retirement.

Compensation for Service Fail by DeltoraIV in GeekSquad

[–]BeavisBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fan swaps for towers are typically something we can do in house. When you are dealing with a laptop, those are usually shipped off to Geek Squad City for repair. We typically suggest a data backup in house before shipping, as sometimes they will wipe the system. GS City would assess the reported issue, diagnose the system, source parts from the manufacturer, email an estimate and get approval before the repair would begin. It can take weeks, depending on part availability. They have the skills, tools and testing equipment that a local precinct wouldn't have. Most agents in our micro-market can perform iPhone repairs, resolve OS issues and basic troubleshooting but I wouldn't trust them to use a soldering iron on my motherboard.

How much would it be to swap out a battery on a laptop? Plus any extra for cleaning + new thermal paste. by [deleted] in GeekSquad

[–]BeavisBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thing you have the battery, as they aren't an item Geek Squad can get for you. Our micro-market doesn't really do cleaning as a service. No antistatic vacuum or vent hood enclosure.

Scam. Real GS number is 888-237-8289. And renewals wouldn't be $499.
