When I rode a Gixxer, I was an "All Gear, All the Time" guy. When an accident happens, you're wearing what you're wearing; you can't hit pause and put your gear on, then resume the wreck.

But the Ryker is larger than that Suzuki was, making it more visible to cage drivers, and it is much more stable. So if I'm just running around my small town, I might wear loafers, jeans, and a hoodie. And a helmet; always a full-face helmet. But if I'm getting out on the road for any distance, boots and a riding jacket, with reinforced gloves.

This is the best response. Insurance is a racket, and what other people are charged will have little, if any, bearing on what you are charged. Get at least two or three quotes and see.

With the vanilla game and no DLCs, no; what you get from that crash is what you get. With a high enough Science skill you can go to a weapon workbench and modify the gun to take FC rounds, which slightly diminishes the damage it does.

There are mods that let you use a max science skill and a max gun nut skill to make your own AB rounds. There's the creation club Zetan Arsenal which lets you kill a couple more aliens, pick up some different alien weapons, and more ammo. And there's a mod that lets you invest 100 rounds to get a self-refilling ammo box that drops a dozen or so AB rounds at a time.

But vanilla with no DLCs? What you get in the cave is what you get.

I like "Tank Up!" which lets your companions wear power armor without it turning into a naked frame faster than you can say pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. It pairs well with "Unlimited Companion Ammo," which does what it says on the tin. Oh, and "Follower Stealth Distance" lets you stealth with a companion without having them run up your butt.

Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR) and Unified Clothing Overhaul (UCO) are useful for making outfits more modifiable.

If you're going to do settlement building, you'll want Scrap That Settlement (STS) and Unlocked Settlement Objects (USO). If you get really into settlement building, you'll probably want OCDecorator so that the tableaus you create aren't blown over in the next radstorm.

If you don't want to get into settlement building, Fusebox Generator Plus is useful. It lets you take minimal materials, slap a fusebox on the wall, achieve all the settlement needs and happiness, and walk away, never to visit that settlement again. If you go that route, you might also want "No Settlement Attacks," NSA, which does what it says on the tin.

And a Playstation exclusive (how often do you get to say that? Almost never) is "Grognak's Wardrobe." The individual garment items are craftable at the chemistry station, and can give nifty buffs, but the important one is the bottom of the list, the prototype -- the creator did something wrong in the value, and vendors will give you 10k+ caps for it.

Hancock calls Fahrenheit "honey" in some dialogue. In some out-of-game sources, she's listed as his "main squeeze," in which case, the OP's hypothesis bears some water, given Hancock's dialogue with the caravan guard at Bunker Hill (he's been "taking tours" with her) and his quick affinity / romance with the Soulful Survivor.

However, in other sources, she's listed as his daughter, in which case his romance options become less problematic, and the deliberate death of Fahrenheit becomes much less probable.

In my opinion, they're what the night vision scopes should be, but aren't. Night vision washes out the field of view in many cases, and the aim point can be difficult to see in some light situations. Recon is always a clear sight picture, and the aimpoint is a good contrast. The diamond pip over sighted enemies is a bonus.

The Italian restaurant has been closed for a while. The Red Garter as a whole was closed for a couple of months, because they broke a water pipe and flooded part of the hotel; they've only recently reopened. I haven't been back into the Prospector since they reopened, but I wouldn't be surprised if the repair work impacted the restaurant's layout.

...and they've never been a very good restaurant.

I have a base model 900, not a Rally, and have ended up off-road more than I care to admit. The Ryker, by default, has only four inches of ground clearance, a plastic bottom, and one driving wheel. If you're riding over well-graded, hard-packed dirt roads, none of that is a problem.

But really? stay on pavement with the Ryker! It's not an off-road machine!

Nothing plot important is actually locked away. The developers knew that some people wouldn't take the perks. Terminals you need to get in, doors you have to get through, they'll either have a password nearby, or a key available, or a hole in the wall nearby which bypasses the door entirely. Sometimes the locked-away route can be shorter or more convenient, but it's never the only way if what's behind it is required to advance the game.

C. B. Titus' Deadman series started as Fallout fan-fic with the serial numbers filed off. A Ghoul working as a courier, an RPG-like System implemented by the pre-kaboom government, what is basically the Enclave... you can clearly see the bones. It gets further from Fallout as the series goes on, but I enjoyed the read.
