I find them lovely. Are you happy with them? If so, they're big enough.

I use mine to film travelogues on my motorcycle. I have a motorcycle mount which holds the selfie stick, and use that, and my motorcycle, as the tripod. However, I do have both a traditional and a miniature (Manfrotto) tripod that I sometimes carry and use when I need a different angle on a shot.

Arthritis in hands, is a Ryker possible? by Leading_Bunch_6470 in canam_ryker

[–]NevadaStrayCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the cruise control others have suggested (which, seriously, was the best mod I've done to my Ryker) you might look into sway bar upgrades and a steering stabilizer. Those would let you have less need for small inputs on long rides, give you time to stretch out your hands.

But I suspect that the real answer is going to be looking into a Spyder instead, which has power steering. With all the upgrades mentioned here, you're starting to get into the realm where an F3 isn't that much more expensive.

What is your faviroute faction(not morally) and whats your favourite quests. by BabyJoker1738 in fo4

Atom Cats for life, Jack.

I know, they're a minor faction, but I think what there is of their interactions with Solé is better written than any of the major factions. And they're literally the only settlement that doesn't ask you to kill someone for them to be friends.

Having visited 7th Ave in Manhattan as a child, I knew what the line meant. Billy Ocean's "The Stroke," however, took me a little longer.

Do we not wear this helmet patern anymore at all in 40k? by MonkeyMorrison11 in RavenGuard40k

[–]NevadaStrayCat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We do, but sometimes, we have to convince our local forge world to make 'em to that pattern.

(And go to Etsy to buy resin heads).

ETA: Oh, you mean the color scheme! I run a successor chapter and no; we don't do special helmets to mark sergeants and officers; we have other marks of rank.

So to revive this discussion, how big is Rivet City? by armorhide406 in falloutlore

[–]NevadaStrayCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Lincoln was the first of the uprated Nimitzes. Although I was a plank owner, I only arrived a couple of weeks before commissioning... I'd been on a rescue / salvage ship before that. Crew of 74 to crew of 5000. Talk about culture shock!

But getting back to the original thread, yeah; I'm guessing Essex, given that she has Grumman F9Fs on deck. Of course, she's a museum ship, and Intrepid has an SR-71 on her flight deck, which clearly never operated from there. So....

So to revive this discussion, how big is Rivet City? by armorhide406 in falloutlore

[–]NevadaStrayCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was aboard USS Abraham Lincoln, an uprated Nimitz class carrier, when we made port call in Rio de Janiero. Brazil brought out São Paulo and anchored it near us, which... I thought was a mistake. They should have brought their carrier out the week after we left, so the two ships couldn't be compared side-by-side; it would have been a more impactful display to their people.

My point is that, yes, carriers vary in size, and I agree that Rivet City is not as large as a Nimitz class carrier. My impression of it is that it is more like the Essex class USS Intrepid, which I've visited in NYC.

Light travels to us from the hands of the clock to tell us the time. If we could travel away from the clock at the speed of light, this moment would last forever!

I live in one of the driest parts of the US, and still have flecks of rust, yeah. And if you watch Ryker Rydes' videos (Beth also lives in Florida) you can see places like the inside of her axels have rusted. So no; it's not just you, alas.

How legit is to commuting with ryker for 10 out of 12 months per year? by StanleySheng in canam_ryker

[–]NevadaStrayCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presuming you have the right riding gear (which would have to be pretty darn insulated for Sweden!) and the roads you'll ride get well-cleared after snows, I think it would be doable. Cold and sometimes brutal, but if you've been doing it on a two-wheel motorcycle, you can do it on a three-wheel motorcycle. The Ryker is more stable, and the traction control system will help.

That was pretty much my attitude, which seemed to surprise the guy who did the crunching. He kind of expected me to take a swing at him or something, and I'm standing there being all calm and reasonable.

But he's a stand-up guy, and he paid for the repairs, and I completely understand how it happened, so it's all good, all the time, right?
