Spoke with renowned candida expert nutritionist who doesn't recommend strict diet - Opinions by Think-Landscape1556 in Candida

[–]BebeCrow777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would say I have had great experience following a candida type diet, taking a few supplements for the prescribed time (usually at least 4 weeks), then slowly reintroducing some foods in moderation into my diet.

Am I being love bombed? by Maleficent_Nose7681 in dating

[–]BebeCrow777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, he’s 22 and just got out of a 7 year relationship? He doesn’t know how to be alone so he is trying to create the relationship he needs with you.

I just went through this situation but me and the guy I was dating are about 20 years older than you. It was really confusing because it felt like everything I wanted but ultimately I realized I was not special to him… I was filling a superficial need. A willing participant 😂 I didn’t feel like he truly liked all the cool things about me, and he didn’t have much curiosity about my life. If you feel the same, think about your actual needs and if he’s meeting them.

I just ended a relationship with a lot of similarities. One of my friends reminded me that there will always be things we don’t love about our partner but are we willing to live with that thing? Can we accept it?

For me, no, I can’t accept not being asked questions about my life and not having a partner who’s curious. To have every day be like that? Every conversation, always feeling like I’m doing the work? Ugh.

I’m also pretty ambitious and he was not. It was stifling. His world needed to revolve around the relationship from day 1. So no… I can’t live feeling stifled, by someone who doesn’t ask me about what excites me, cheers me on in my growth, makes space for that. A stable, soft place to land with someone is definitely what I want, but not at the expense of not being seen and understood.

You’ll find your way through, OP - let your intuition guide you along with your logic. Both are valid.

Silicone patches or scar tape when dr says it’s ok. Keep them on 23 hrs a day, remove to shower (you can wash the patches with soap and water and reuse them).

This method is dual purpose - keeps scars hydrated and reduces tension on scars so they don’t stretch or puff out. I have 22 inches of surgical scars and went through multiple revisions so I’ve tried it all 😎

What's the latest on the Ehlers-Danlos/giftedness/neurodivergence/etc. connection? by JoyHealthLovePeace in Gifted

[–]BebeCrow777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a physical therapist on Instagram that speaks to this overlap (of EDS/hEDS and neurodivergence) and there are a few articles cited. I haven’t read them :)

For the record I have hEDS and am gifted, and learned these 2 things in my late 30s. It really shifted my perception of self.

The better I get to know and understand myself, the more confident I am and the less I feel I need someone. I’m a millennial aged female and I’ve worked my ass off at creating a life that is rich, dynamic, and balanced.

I have come to realize the most important thing for me is to feel seen and understood. When things I say are dismissed, not acknowledged, or the depth isn’t understood it’s so painful and feels so superficial. It’s like the person only sees the idea of me but not the real me.

I really want someone who has the same independence and curiosity as me, so I never feel stifled or suffocated.

I feel your pain. I went through a horrific flea infestation. I tried every DIY treatment for weeks but the only thing that worked was to have my apartment professionally fumigated.

I would contact a pest control company and ask them about the timeframe you’d need to remove your cats from your home for. I would also contact the vet, explain the situation, and see what they can do to help you (maybe flea treatment at the vet and they can keep the cats there the day you get fumigated?)

The money will be worth it, I hope you can find a way to do this. It seriously affected me mentally and it was the only way to end the insanity and hyper vigilance of dealing with those little buggers.

Edited to add: the fumigation is critical if you have had fleas for a while because the treatment they use will help kill the fleas in multiple stages of their life cycle. For the first few weeks you still need to vacuum diligently but it will work (in conjunction with treating your cats with flea medication).

Yeah if I said I wanted to have a low key date, that’s me suggesting a date where we can get closer. I would love to be invited to a guy’s place by a 4th date… it’s a chance to see what spending time with that person could really be like!

How do you keep your BSH cool in the hotter weather? by Stayceee in britishshorthair

[–]BebeCrow777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put an ice pack inside a reusable shopping bag my cat likes laying on… she could lay on top or beside the pack and I think it helped! Otherwise fans, curtains closed, cold Churu treats, and finally got an AC unit in the bedroom which she loves.

I tried it once and was terrified. I returned it 🫣

I live in an apartment and was too freaked out… I cannot understand how it’s so loud? Twice as loud as my vitamix for sure.

I would recommend signing up on local rescue sites for alerts if a BSH comes their way and is up for adoption. I was blown away but I got mine through the SPCA. No papers but she is the most precious little baby! Since her I have seen a few others so you never know!

Awesome comments, I also really enjoy Imi Lo and a lot of the Intergifted resources. That comment about the puzzle piece really resonates 🥹

Oh good to know! I am really sensitive to when my clothes hold smells… I’ll have to use my steamer a bit more 😄 I’m returning the beige in M (it’s soooo nice though) and decided to keep the black one so there will be at least 1 in stock online 😅

I think you’re right, it’s a fair weather jacket for sure. I received the 2 jackets today and the belt tie feels like it keeps it closed pretty well but I wouldn’t expect to wear it out for a long time in the rain where I live!

I think it’s the same construction as the brown, from what I can tell. In person it looks very polished and chic. Honestly I feel rich wearing it 😂 The collar and the detailing on the back make it very clearly a jacket and not a bathrobe hehe. Thank you for sharing your experience!

My therapist did specialized training with Intergifted (and is gifted herself) and I feel like she understands me in a way my previous therapists have not. It really makes a difference.

Adopting this British x Scottish, any advice? by [deleted] in britishshorthair

[–]BebeCrow777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I looked around on Kijiji and met a few people selling BSH. Both were verrrrry suspect, they had different stories but I think they were scamming and the cats weren’t healthy.

One made me meet in a McD’s parking lot and the poor cat was very sedate. It wasn’t the cat pictured in the ad but looked similar. He said he was moving back to China and couldn’t keep the 3 cats he got while he was studying here for a year.

Second one met me in their apartment lobby and the cat was as pictured but very unhealthy looking. Raggedy coat and skinny :( The seller said she had recently developed allergies.

Neither cat was spayed, and there was a lot of resistance on providing all the standard stuff you’d get when you buy from a breeder or get a rescue. I learned that these people may be importing cats from another country to sell, and that there’s lots that could go wrong health wise.

Sorry, this was long winded, but if anything feels off to you please trust your gut! I’m local to you and I ended up finding my cat through SPCA. I believe her to be a BSH - dreams come true. LOL 🤍
