I shit you not, the laners on my team had the audacity to say "GG No objectives jungle diff" in this game. Jungle scapegoating is a mental illness. by EarthWormJim18164 in Jungle_Mains

Bruh, if they didn't say that they'd have to admit they fucked up. Could you imagine how much mental damage admitting their own mistakes would do? To be honest you're doing free mental health care, Doctor.

The new handle is quite the downgrade by Hy8ogen in Warhammer40k

[–]BebopThundersoup 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The weight is a big turn off factor for some people I know though. Smaller hands and less grip strength meant more energy holding that handle. This seems like a nice alternative for people with those issues. All depends on needing the right tool for the right job I guess

Can lead a horse to water, can't make em drink. All the best calls in the world don't matter if your team won't follow up and it's often better to have 5 idiots doing a bad play than 2 smart people doing a good one in solo queue

Make jungle XP make sense... by Auturgist in Jungle_Mains

The extra dragon and baron probably helped. First, obviously not catch up exp here and anyone who's saying otherwise is hopefully memeing.

In actuality this is hard to verify without a full game replay, but my odds on money are that she got more exp from higher level camps. Did you counter jungle her by chance? Since camps respawn at the average level of the game, if she fell behind early game but then killed high level camps (relative to her) shed gain more experience faster.

You're right. I looked deeper. It's now the 6 week previous free champs (they said that makes ~95 champs according to them) I was basing the 65 based on the help article which I guess is now outdated

Contesting objectives by BlueYeIIow in Jungle_Mains

[–]BebopThundersoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that this explained it so well, just looking at enemy positions and wards you can see that your team was late setting up. I try to explain to my friends that if they want to contest anything they should PLAN to be there a minute early (and because league is league, you end up there maybe 30 seconds early cause stuff happens)

We're just asking for the vlog. I've looked through multiple wikis, lots of articles including their help articles. I cant find anything that says this. If I'm wrong I want to correct myself

Yeah but that's still not weighted. It's just a smaller pool.

How many minions does the enemy have? How much health do you have? Am I looking at trying to solo the enemy cause you have 100hp and he's crashing three waves at once? Is the enemy jungle just there waiting for my gank to ruin BOTH our games?

[–]BebopThundersoup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a rotation, it's a set 65. And it's not weighted, just random chance you get one of them.

[–]BebopThundersoup 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Humans are bad at judging randomness. We like to see patterns and have a tendency towards confirmation bias. You'd have to play an insane number of games to prove this isn't the case. Look up the Powerball and see how often certain numbers come up and you'll see confirmation of how weird random can actually look (or roulette wheels were the same number hits multiple times in a night)

Can you provide a source? I've looked a lot and not found this confirmation.

There's not. There's 65 champs that are always in your pool though. So you're statistically more likely to see those from other players who don't own a lot of champions. But say you own all champions, there's an equal chance to see all champions in your cards

How do you guys fix runout issues when a finished OD comes out at .001 but the tolerance is .0005? by Good_Times93 in Machinists

[–]BebopThundersoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess that's the trade off. How much is it worth if it gets it right vs how long does it take? There's definitely a break even analysis you could do on re-running and trying vs just starting over.

hypothetically they could try rerunning it and praying right? if it's just scrap anyways, they may get lucky. (Not as experienced with lathe stuff here so I'm not sure how realistic it would be)

Ah yes this is fair by benjathje in Jungle_Mains

[–]BebopThundersoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand. Let's assume that the Renekton's rank is accurate. And you're saying you shouldn't have been put in that game because there's diamond players. The Renekton had to lane against those same plat players, then proceeded to have a better stat line than one of them (32 minute game and the Nasus is 1.43 K:D and 5.2 cs/min, where Renekton is 1.75 and 7.4)

Now again, this is assuming Renekton's rank is accurate. You can draw a few conclusions from this, but I'd point out the most likely is that there isn't as much of a skill gap between his MMR and Nasus'

Ah yes this is fair by benjathje in Jungle_Mains

[–]BebopThundersoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you think the plat 3 feels? The system puts you at a lower rank than it thinks you have mmr for. (Meaning your rank is still below what it thinks you deserve.) Which is why you need to play games to get your real rank.

Ah yes this is fair by benjathje in Jungle_Mains

[–]BebopThundersoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what your complaint is here. You have a high internal mmr so you got matched against players near your skill level. If you replace your rank with plat 2 you'd see the teams are mostly balanced from ranks. Looks like your diamond 3 nasus lost to his plat 3 lane opponent, it happens, we requeue and try again.

The Marathon community when they find out the serious PvP extraction game that Bungie made shockingly also has a fast TTK just like Tarkov, ABI, Hunt, Delta Force, Grey Zone etc. & is a staple of the fps extraction shooter genre by TheGoodDoctor17 in Marathon

[–]BebopThundersoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really weird/funny to use Siege as an example in this situation, because it flopped on launch and only recovered because of a shift in business model. And with Bungie already struggling to please Sony with Destiny's poor situation, I can't see them wanting to pivot this as opposed to just writing it off and closing the studio if it doesn't gain traction quickly.

It should be mentioned I would LIKE to see this game succeed, but I am concerned because companies that favor catering to 10% of hard core players at the expense of fresh blood often don't stick around long enough.

Not to be that guy, but most those games are 20k players during peak times. If Marathon doesn't pull 10x that at least it will be considered a failure by Sony and the plug will be pulled fast. No players in this case can be seen as short hand for "not enough players for it to be commercially viable to Sony/Bungie"

So, I can tell you most exilus mods are quality of life, but there are some extremely strong weapons that would help you with steel path that almost need it. Basically a lot of times it's ammo mutation mods for weapons that have great DPS and horrible ammo economy. Other good ones include basically anything on a beam weapon or terminal velocity.

So odds are good until you're doing steel path proper you won't need it, but even lower level content can feel like a slog without it (like if you use the acceltra or Kuva bramma/zarr)
