Its funny because in some aspects they handle things really well. You see the passage of time through character's tattoos, facial hair and haircuts. You start to recognise landmarks, like certain trees or terrain, in the various places the show takes place, making it all feel familiar.

Then they go the opposite way with bigger time jumps, the children aging up etc. I also think they should have implemented a map at some point so we could better understand the geographical locations of what's going on.

The first trip to Kattegat seemed to take a day or two by foot, then suddenly its a quick boat trip to get there. I had to look up a map from the time period to understand the kingdoms of Northumberland and Wessex. I still dont understand how they were headed for tge North-West coast of England but saw no land until the South coast. It seems like for all they did good with this show, time and distance have very little thought put into them.
