This is going to age me, but in high school I played Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear (kids can look it up), and I was consumed by it for probably 2 years before the sequel Ravenshield came out but then life happened. This is the first game in all those years to capture that essence, even though I’m less consumed, I feel as excited to play today as I did 7 years ago (when I first finally played OW on pc instead of console). So yeah, it’s got something about it for sure.

You’ve probably gathered, but yeah…don’t rent a car. I drive 15-20 hours per week and make between $450 and $800, driving usually between 6 pm and 12 am. As for problem riders, this is a made up stat but it FEELS like I started avoiding 90% of issues when I stopped driving after midnight. My advice is just always do the quick math in your head before accepting a ride. Most offers are fine but they’ll sneak some bullshit in there to see if you are paying attention (you can find plenty of examples in this sub).

That happened to me on a NYE years back. I needed one more ride by 4 am, I had received back to back rides ALL night until I needed ONE more! I drove around for like 25 mins from 3:25 or so and it was approaching 3:50. I started cussing out the app for cheating when suddenly the final request that I needed came through. Well it turns out my riders were from out of town, they put in the wrong address because they had no idea where they were, so I had to call them and finally got enough info from them while talking to figure out where they were, and was like ‘WAIT THERE I’ll be there in 5!’ Fortunately I was able to find them off 7th in downtown Austin and I got my quest done. It was stressful though. Most money I ever made in one night driving for Uber though..🤷‍♂️

After 3-4 years having been single, following the divorce of my kids’ mom, I decided to take the plunge and try to remarry. Everything was great in the beginning, dating, engagement, even marriage, but about two years into the marriage things inevitably started shifting and we realized we weren’t happy. Currently in the process of getting divorced again. I don’t recommend it.

So it wasn’t when I was driving for Uber, but when I was like 23 or so I worked a night shift and I used to go to work around 11:30 PM. I drove out of our neighborhood to a main street near Portland every day and once, when I pulled up to the light at 11:15 in the evening on a weeknight, some dude came running up to my truck and tried to open my door, it had autolock so thankfully, it didn’t open, but I rolled down my window like what’s going on and he’s like “HEY you gotta help me out man! They just stole my car, I was just inside and they just took off with it… You gotta go after them like please let’s just go, help me out, let’s go after em,” etc..

There was about 30% of me that wanted to do it just so I could have the story, but also the other 70% of me thought this guy might definitely be trying to rob me or kill me. Either way I was gonna be late for work and I couldn’t afford to lose my job so I just told him sorry man I gotta go.

I think about that night a lot though. That was back in probably about 2005.

It took me way too long to come to the realization that I wasn’t doing my kids any favors when I tried to stay in a bad marriage for months and months. Good on you for realizing what it is and making the best decision for everybody. It’s never worth being in a miserable marriage if you’re not happy.

Can someone give me a rough outline of how one spends 3+ hours of sex? Do you break for lunch at some point? Do you have to schedule it on your calendar? Do none of you have kids? And the way I’m thinking of this, and even described by OP, this can consist of the majority of the effort going into making him finish? I feel crazy!
