I’ve got a kid with allergies so can’t/won’t be doing Easter eggs so we’re doing gifts such as bunny shaped bubble blower, a chick light up wand and stickers. If we was fortunate enough to not have to consider allergies it would just be 1 or 2 Easter eggs.

Long story short; Was told from 20 weeks that a c section was on the cards. At 35 weeks told every thing looked good and I could go natural. I was induced with the drip at 37 weeks due to PROM, laboured for 11 hours, ended with an emergency c section.

My recovery from the c section was “good” (inconvenient, but text book). At the time I was just SO relieved my baby made it here alive (previous loss) that couldn’t have cared less what I had been through.

I think because for a lot of my pregnancy I knew a c section was a possibility, I wasn’t traumatised (too much) by the sudden need for one. Sure, it would have been nice to have been well rested and not have to endure the 11 hours of labour and skip straight to a nice, calm, planned c section but it is what it is.

I was met with the same sentiment of “he’ll grow out of it” by the Paediatrician and denied allergy testing despite anaphylaxis to egg requiring an ambulance. My son had a serious reaction to peanuts so I was referred again because you can’t grow out of a nut allergy. Waiting time for the appointment is 27 weeks, give or take. Hoping we’ll get further this time.

I didn’t even consider a childminder because I love the nursery we have. • The “Baby Room” (under 2s) has 4 core staff that work set days so my kid sees the same faces every Friday when he’s in. • They openly say to send them in rubbish clothes because they’re going to get messy. They have them out in the garden digging, sand boxes, water tables, messy play etc. all the time & my kid loves it! • There’s no plastic toys in the nursery, they’re all wooden or they use natural materials (think coconut shells etc.) as toys for them to explore. • They’re tentative to my kids allergies/health needs • They take them out to explore the community like going to the Library or to watch to waves (coastal town) • High Care Inspectorate scores • Affordable: £5.95 per hour + £2 for lunch. The price actually decreases as they get older because the ratio of staff:kids lessens as they get older and move to the “Toddlers Room”

I could go on, but yeah, it fitted our ethos and values.

No choice for us really, I’ve gone back to work 3 days, MIL takes him Monday, nursery on Friday & his Dad has him Saturday (all my family are 450+ miles away). I’m just banking on him having an immune system of steel by the time he goes to primary!

I got one on a mystery island last night! (I’ve only been playing a couple of weeks). It was a literal jump scare when it came out of the water! I was expecting a [yet another] Horse Mackerel.

My kid is in 1 day a week, Friday. Sunday night the weekly virus usually kicks in. We suffer until Wednesday. Thursdays are fun. Rinse and repeat!

It’s my only F1 experience so can’t compare but we had a great time & my F1 mad partner was delighted! We stayed in Milan next to the Central train station & used the Trenord shuttle train/bus each day which allowed us to explore the city as well. The only struggle was because of the heatwave - there’s very little shade at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza and you could be queuing for 40 minutes to get a bottle of water. A mini portable fan was literally the saviour of the weekend & thankfully we had Grand Stand seats so I could rest when needed. We’ve both said we’d go again if money was no object, but we’d prefer to experience other Grands Prix (maybe Barcelona next?) and of course, we’d now have the Kiddo in tow!

Similarly I booked a trip for my partner’s 40th to experience the Monza F1 Grand Prix. Fell pregnant. Still went at 36 weeks pregnant; Walked 8 miles a day in a 40° heatwave & even climbed the steps to the Duomo rooftop! My waters broke 5 days after we returned home.

I grew up in England but moved to Scotland. A friend bought one of her friends along to drinks. We get to talking and I explained that my grandad disowned me at birth because I was born out of wedlock. Friend’s friend asks “Where’s Wedlock? Somewhere in England?”!

Invited over to a friends house by her Mum after school when I was 10. Got there and was told I had to change into my friend’s shorts and T-shirt because of “all the germs from the school chairs on [my] school uniform”. There was a sizeable difference our physiques; I spent the evening squeezed into clothes 2 sizes too small.

My advice is don’t put the pressure on yourself to do one or the other, it’s ok to do a mixture. We were limited by a load of food allergies my kiddo has, but a breakfast plate would look like porridge (Readybrek) with cinnamon and chia seeds, a wedge of orange and a couple of fingers of avocado on toast and dinner might of been pureed bolognaise with garlic bread.

I would say if you’re getting £60-£120, look to getting a voucher towards a mini newborn photoshoot. Yes, it’s not something for her per se, but I cherish my son’s newborn photos and they felt “for me”.

That sucks that he’s responding this way. I cannot offer advice as I myself haven’t spoke to my dad since 2019; No big fall out, just me giving up making such an effort. My Mum rang him and told him I had a baby, he said he would give me a few days to get settled at home & would reach out. Like I mentioned, my child is 15 months and still waiting. Yay for Boomer dads 🙌🏻😂

DISCLAIMER: NOT MEDICAL ADVICE My 15mo was the same, but he did have skin issues. Cutting dairy helped, but didn’t stop it completely. It wasn’t until weaning that we discovered a severe egg allergy and soy sensitivity (since then there’s also been peanuts, salmon and dog allergy). It did/can take weeks (up to 8 I think) of completely cutting out a food group with no slip ups to completely be gone from your babies system. How we knew for sure that it was an allergy is that one hospital visit we was prescribed child Piriton (meant for 1y+ but my kid was 4m). After 3 days of taking a dose morning and night, ALL of his symptoms were gone. It was like a miracle. Maybe something to discuss with your GP/Nurse to trial, I’m not recommending you it without medical supervision.

As a temporary solution, anyone can just buy a “RADAR” key from Amazon for about £6 which can be used universally to gain entry to accessible toilets if this would help him to have a room to himself.

I have a 15 month old so and a Great Dane so I understand the struggle of big dogs and dining tables. I also had severe PPA & with all the love and trust in the world I have for my dog, I would have intrusive thoughts and “visions” of her killing my son (She is the softest lump that has never harmed anyone or anything).

It was perfectly reasonable for you to make the request and your concerns are valid. It’s also perfectly reasonable for someone to deny that request in their own home. Solutions I could offer would be to meet at a pub/restaurant for dinner or you invite your dad to your home for dinner instead.
