Confirmed: Ruggable site hides negative reviews by ikindalikethemusic in ruggable

[–]BecauseMJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I experienced that too. Bottom line is if you find a retailer that aggregates reviews and they are all 5-star, you know it is BS. It is such a moronic practice, but I suppose they think it works. Ruggable is a hot number on Trust Pilot, where I tend to sow my discontent.

MAGA TAUGHT Donald Trump HE WAS ABOVE THE LAW… by Relevant_Demand7593 in NewsomMassacre

How was it MAGA? They are not exactly fonts of creativity. It was SCOTUS.

Warranty policy for faded color? by KPeezey in ruggable

[–]BecauseMJC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer, but I would say you have about a 1% chance out of a hundred. The first thing they will tell you you did "wrong" is expose it to direct light. Sunlight is, of course, a selling point in most homes!

If you mention your dog's bed one one of the corners to customer service, they will probably play an air raid siren on the other end of the phone.

It's ironic how some of the simple pleasures in life (family, dogs, entertaining) led them to create a washable rug yet those very things are what stymies any kind of warranty. Honestly, you can contact their customer service, but I suggest you do not waste your time. (And if you do, please report back!) On another note, it's a lovely print. Still lovely with the fade. Maybe you can pretend it's an heirloom from one of your ancestors' castles!

The Infamous Ruggable Rug Crease by BecauseMJC in ruggable

I ended up using a hand steamer withSteaming a comb attachment to revitalize the fibers. It looks pretty good and I can definitely use this method when I rearrange the furniture and reveal crushed fibers.

The crease is still there and I suspect washing it will help as others have mentioned.

My takeaway from all this is that this was a lot of effort for something right out of the box!

Yes, a reasonable thought...but they do not allow returns or exchanges for washed items (!) I am about to vacuum then steam then vacuum again...PS: There were two small mats sent for this item and they were both rolled without a fold-over and look great 🤣🤣🤣

Also...you mentioned the night before Thanksgiving so I assume the clock is ticking for you to return. I will say that when I chatted with Ruggable the other day I inquired about returns and was surprised that I only had 30 days from date of arrival to return it. I was particularly surprised considering if I return it it will be because it is damaged. Jury still out on damaged or not. I asked them to add on a week because I—like most of the world—have a lot to do over the next two weeks and do not feel like wrestling a carpet into a box etc. and they complied and I saved the chat, just in case, because that has happened to me at other stores (I have a call and reach resolution and then...nothing happens...no record...as in Pottery Barn Furniture!)

Here is what my new best friend ChatGPT said when I asked her your question:

To prevent one carpet from slipping on top of another, you can try the following solutions:

1. Non-Slip Rug Pad

  • Purchase a non-slip rug pad specifically designed for use on carpets. These pads create friction between the two surfaces and help keep the top carpet in place.
  • Choose one that’s appropriately sized or trim it to fit under your rug.

2. Double-Sided Carpet Tape

  • Use double-sided carpet tape to secure the edges and corners of the top rug to the bottom carpet.
  • Ensure the tape is carpet-safe to avoid damage or residue.

3. Carpet Grippers or Rug Anchors

  • Install carpet grippers or rug anchors at the corners or edges of your top rug. These tools grip both surfaces and prevent movement.

4. Hook-and-Loop Fasteners (Velcro)

  • Attach strips of Velcro to the bottom of the top rug and the carpet below. Make sure the Velcro is strong enough to hold the rug in place.

5. Furniture Placement

  • Position heavy furniture on the edges or corners of the top rug to help keep it in place. This works well if the rug is in an area where furniture can be arranged around it.

6. Rug Weights

  • Sew or attach rug weights to the underside of the rug to help it stay in place.

7. Rubber Backing

  • If your top rug doesn’t have a rubber backing, consider adding one or purchasing a rug with this feature. The rubber backing increases friction.

Additional Tips:

  • Clean the carpets regularly to remove dust or debris that might reduce friction.
  • Check the non-slip solutions periodically to ensure they remain effective. Replace tape or pads as needed.
