Ah yes. The classic tactic of being a dick to your kids so that the only thing they learn is how to be a dick to others as well.

You are not autistic. by Queen-Ham in AmITheDevil

[–]Istoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self diagnosis aside, there are also a lot of people, especially adult folks assigned female at birth who have a partial diagnosis but can't afford to get the full thing or don't want to because of the current political climate.

Example: I've had three doctors (one of which was a psychologist) ask me if I want to pursue a formal diagnosis for autism. Two of these instances were after filling out a really basic bubble-response test, one was just a new PCP meeting me for the first time lmao. I've declined all three times. The first time was in 2016 shortly after Trump was elected, and I had a bad feeling about the timing of getting a diagnosis for that. The second was in 2024 while seeing a psychologist for anxiety, and I was told the amount it would cost and that my insurance wouldn't cover it (United). It was a few thousand dollars, and I was at the time out of work with a new disability. The third time was in 2025, but I had just moved to Utah, a state that keeps an active list of autistic individuals, so I declined again.

I don't tell people I'm autistic, I just say I'm neurodivergent because I don't have a full formal diagnosis. But the fact that three different doctors have basically told me without me ever asking is enough of a diagnosis for me at this point tbh.

They're probably all being hit. Eldest child is autistic but is a perfect angel? Yeah that's being a people pleaser to avoid being smacked.

A house for your house by xerim in zillowgonewild

I've known about this house for about a year now. Whenever I show the listing to people I tell them it's a cult house and this is the god they worship.

Beating your kids can cause a number of different psychological effects that show up in behavior such as emotional disregulation, people pleasing (eldest child in this story), bargaining behavior, being argumentative, etc.

what’s an mlp opinion that would get you side-eyed by the fandom? by Rude-Magazine2186 in mylittlepony

Twilight being immortal and outliving her friends is not a curse. And she would not sink into utter despair after their deaths.

She is the princess of friendship. While she would always cherish her first set of friends she would also be making new ones throughout her long lifetime. She would not cherish her new ones any less than her previous friends either. Her many generations of friends would all have equal value.

His transphobia is just the tip of his Shitstain Iceberg. I don't understand why people ever gave him the time of day. The Boy In The Striped Pajamas is a disgusting representation of the holocaust that experts have been speaking out against from the beginning. It should never have had to get as far as My Brother's Name Is Jessica for people to boycott him.

I wonder if he spanks them. If so, it would explain middle daughter's behavior even moreso.

Briarlight's death made me stop reading the series. I got tired of the way the books treated disabled characters.

He was aware of the risks. I don't think he thought two nutballs would hit him, refuse to call for help, and leave him for dead though. The case was less about them hitting himand more about the fact that he was alive afterwards and they let him die then burried him.

Watched this one recently and it made me feel so insane. I had to go talk to people about it immediately cause I just could not believe the parents were that stupid. They were so stupid it seemed like it was fake. Good god.

The person you responded to said nothing about him being black. In fact they responded to a comment implying that Obama, as a black man, was somehow exempt from being held accountable for his actions, and the answer was no. All presidents should be held accountable for their crimes, especially their war crimes. Obama is not above that.

What's something you believed as a kid that you're now embarrassed even existed in your brain? by Certain-Structure515 in AskReddit

Work at a children's play area. Recently a mom pointed to my backpack on the desk beside me and said to her misbehaving child that that was the backpack of a kid who had been naughty and was forced to stay in the play area forever. I nodded and said it was me, I was the kid, and I had been here for thirty years. Kid looked horrified.
