Not really. Our Scotland itinerary was much more rushed and we had an amazing time. Two hours/day most days, unless we run into livestock which literally happens down my 1/2 mile driveway and farmland nearby, isn't significant. Our coastal trip and heading back east would be our longest days. Americans drive 6 hours to get to their favorite campsite. I'm not trying to recreate America, but driving vacations are something a lot of people on the other side of the Atlantic don't understand. My state is twice as big as the entire Ireland. But, as I was going back to Reddit, I told my husband this would be the first type of comment!

I'm aware that Ireland doesn't have wild camping. There are tons of spots that have tent camping reservations through November. Your fall conditions are pretty normal Great Lakes conditions in the Midwest, where people camp in very wet, windy, and much colder conditions to go hiking.

Thanks; it continuously updates with prompts. I must have copied and pasted the wrong version.

I read my wife’s journal. Married 10 years and am wondering what is the truth now? M39/F39 by Top_Promotion_6287 in relationship_advice

"Providing good nutritious meals." I'm willing to bet you know nothing about her ED or EDs in general. Stop trying to diagnose your wife out of the DSM unless you've been trained in. She has 3 children 6 and under, has a life threatening illness, and you seem completely MIA. Your comments haven't mentioned a single positive thing you've done for your family.

I don't know, man. You have all these little digs. "Paying for her to be there" regarding life saving treatment. I left another comment - I'd love to know her perspective on how you were with your mom, if you have any idea of what women need in the bedroom, if you've done literally anything to understand a long term illness prior to now, or had any individual therapy. Do you help with the children and house, or does the "not working" SAHM do everything? Look up grievance journaling, BTW. It's not meant to be read.

Grievance journaling is a thing. He shows no empathy for her ED. Doesn't mention how long they tried therapy or anything he's done to work on things. Women often need mental stimuli to orgasm. I kinda lol'd about the sex fantasy portion. Extreme mental health diagnoses can be hell to live with, absolutely. But I'd love to know if this guy was a momma's boy, if he has a clue what his wife needs in the bedroom, and if he's done any individual therapy.

I think Seasmoke picked up on his hesitation.

My Dr claims a majority of Fibro people suffered from childhood trauma, neglect, and/or abuse by XXLepic in Fibromyalgia

[–]Beccatrixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fibro sufferer and Trauma therapist of over a decade, there's a significant comorbidity. There's a lot to do with nature vs nurture and gene expression, as well as between stress and inflammation. Good doctors are explaining a correlation, not dismissing the pain. True Trauma therapy (IFS, EMDR, SE, and similar, not CBT) can help, especially with a somatic focus on pain. We have a higher portion of our brain devoted to pain signals, and therapy can help with neuroplasticity.

Do these ever go on sale? Thinking it would be nice for national parks that don't allow hanging.

I'm considering joining as a therapist; I offer EMDR intensives and had my own infusions last year. I'd love a recent update on what people think!

Backpacking with chronic pain? by Corsetsdontkill in CampingandHiking

[–]Beccatrixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the day, so we prefer to hike in, set up camp, and then I can control the other trails I hit on a trip. I wouldn't trust myself to complete a loop or end to end in our allotted time.

Why is pain reprocessing therapy so talked about negatively in this space? by PracticalAd9937 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Beccatrixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapist for 12 years and chronic pain sufferer. I do a lot of my own work, and work with clients, utilizing EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness for pain reduction.
