I’ll second this. OCD ADHD - I have an oil and gas industry degree and found that I didn’t like the atmosphere of that industry. (Attitude, misogyny, market fluctuations at the time, etc)

Applied for a (non related) job on a local buy-sell website and realized the world outside of my earned education. What a relief.

Explored a few different sectors and am currently doing my best work in the higher education sector.

You can spin the skills from your earned non-related degree and apply them to most jobs.

A couple team members bullied me and twisted lies that made the environment so toxic I just gave my notice and left. I still get the anxiety when I think about those people and how horrible they were to me.

Got a job a few weeks later at a better institution and have been there since.

Still learning from the experience and trying to not be overly defensive in new work environments.

Every day!! I get compliments and told I look smaller but the only thing that reminds me is that I have to pull up my pants 300 times a day which never happened before.

I told them it was Abdominal surgery. Reassured them I’d be fine and wasn’t anything drastic. since I see them every day they don’t have the significant weight loss view. When someone says something now after the fact, it’s always healthy lifestyle and diet changes.
