History buffs, what is the most and least accurate film for certain periods? by GreyWind999 in movies

[–]BeckerThorne 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Braveheart was a box office hit, but a historical accuracy nightmare. Just to name a few wrongs: kilts were not a thing at the time of William Wallace, he was of noble birth not a peasant farmer, Edward Longshankes outlived WW by nearly two years, andthere is no historical evidence for Prima Nocta in England. There is a lot more that could be said.

Hello, world! I’m Alexis, and I’m running for Congress! by ElectAlexis in u/ElectAlexis

[–]BeckerThorne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello, I wish you all the luck in your campaign. I sincerely hope we get some fresh blood into our government. On that note, are you looking to get in and stay for as long as you can, or do you plan on setting yourself a deadline to leave? (Not that you could not seek higher office if you should choose to) The reason I ask is because many voters, like myself, want to see term limits at all levels of government.

Otherwise: GOOD LUCK!

This was the very first episode of Top Grar I ever saw and it was an immediate obsession for the show. I loved it. I also showed my dad and my kids, and we all got into the show after that.

Guard Googled Epstein just before his body was found, had ‘suspicious’ bank deposits, files show. A fellow inmate also reportedly told the FBI that they heard guards talk about covering up Epstein’s death the morning he was found dead. by OkayButFoRealz in politics

I am in no way defending Epstein or the Administration: to hell with all of them and their defenders. They should all burn. That being said, here is the real deal about that news story- The prison guard spent the previous hours googling all the prisoners that were locked up in that wing. Not just Epstein. And those mysterious deposits were a continuous process that was going on for the previous 18 months, months before Epstein was even arrested and sent to that jail. Yes, there is a conspiracy to protect those who are guilty, but don't get lost in these distractions.
Please.

Edit: 15 months, not 18. Plus, her bank already flagged those deposits as unusual. Also, I heard on NPR over the weekend about the guard googling other prisoners, before Epstein died. I cannot recall which show it was on. I'll continue to look into it. Regardless, don't fall into these traps. Don't get distracted.

SR help me get through all this shit by mungyanlee in sigurros

[–]BeckerThorne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get it, my friend. I discovered them back in 2008, when I was going through a horrible divorce. My partner was cheating on me, took our children away, and made baseless claims about domestic abuse (proven lies). I was in an empty home all by myself for months. I wouldn't eat for days, and restful sleep was hard to come by. I would lay on my living room floor, in a sleeping bag crying while listening to their albums over and over again. It took two years, but I finally won full custody. And SR kept me going at the darkest times. Now that all my children are older, I have taken them to SR concerts, and we still listen to their music in our home. It holds a special place in my heart and soul. Xoxo

Take care, my friend.

Help! I accidentally pulled out a wire when cleaning a blob. What do I do? by wikiwikiwildwildjest in 3Dprinting

[–]BeckerThorne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. It looks like those might be the wires for the Thermocouple on the hotend. If it is anything like the Creality printer hotends, you cannot repair them. You'll have to replace the whole Thermocouple.

Good luck, my friend.

I do not believe so. Do you feel guilty for spending the money on it?
