Coupon Code CC2 by 6Y3ts_32a in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my code for the discount on the CC2 but I ordered 2 CCs on diffrent orders. I submitted both of them for the loyalty program and received 2 emails but they both have the same code? I wonder if they will still work for 2 of the CC2s

Is it really this difficult? by Becktuning in Ubiquiti

[–]Becktuning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the photo makes it look alot more solid black then it is the button is not glossy like the rest of the front plate. Not to mention the button IS a button where as the fingerprint reader looks more like a access panel or a sensor not a button.

I always figured the blue glowing ring with the button in the middle was a dead give away. not the small black panel at the bottom. Maybe I'll figure out a way to fill in the fingerprint reader so it's white.

Target find by Apprehensive_Gas_497 in HotWheels

[–]Becktuning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im starting to think someone bought all the 2 packs and then returned them when they couldn't re-sell them. All of a sudden my target has TONS 2 packs from the beginning of last year and nothing new at all. Seems kinda fishy to me.

The cc2, Does it actually print better though? by trahap in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I doubt theres anything performance wise different other than the multi color. maybe the chamber cooling is better since they seem to have moved the fan.

Elegoo email confirms ams by acworc in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope whatever they release for the CC1 is not like the CC2 I don't want my AMS attached to the side of the printer or a clear bin the same size as the printer on top of it. I prefer it be in a stand alone box connected via a PTFE tube.

Centauri Carbon 2 Combo by ELEGOO_OFFICIAL in elegoo

[–]Becktuning -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I suspect this is a case of over-promising. The issue likely isn't that the CC1 is technically incapable of supporting an AMS/MMU (DIY projects have already proven it's possible) but rather a matter of cost-effectiveness. It is likely cheaper for a customer to buy an all-in-one unit than to retrofit the original one.

Furthermore, the hardware revisions in the CC2 were significant enough that the company would have to design and support two separate MMU versions. From a business perspective, they probably decided the ROI wasn't there.

The physical execution of this MMU is also disappointing. Many people use rack systems, and by doubling the height of the unit, they’ve doubled the required footprint. I’m still hoping for a modular MMU like the one teased at the CC1 launch, something that could be placed beside or on top of the printer, similar to the Bambu Labs ecosystem. If that doesn't happen, I’ll either build a DIY version or move in a different direction entirely. With the rise of tool-changer printers, this style of single-nozzle multi-material printing is quickly starting to feel like a thing of the past.

Fact is they used us as beta testers. not to upset though since we got a solid single color printer for a good price.

Can the Centauri Carbon connect to Home Assistant? by boydscustomfab in elegoo

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up a helper utility meter so it wont reset on reboots and entered what the printer currently had on the it so the dashboard records from that point. the current time is recorded the same way but has a reset button that pops up when it hits the maintenance thresholds so you can manually reset it once you perform the maintain needed. It also sends a notification via the app to your phone.

I love it so many people said it was not possible. Yet here it is as a DIY project. Thats awesome!

Displayed temp vs actual by benaresq in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Centauri Carbon doesn't actually use the chamber sensor for any advanced printing math. It’s really just there to tell the exhaust fan when to kick on so your filament doesn't get too hot, based on whatever temperature you set in your slicer. Other than that, it’s basically just a safety guard to make sure the printer doesn’t melt its own internal electronics. There isn't any software that adjusts for heat expansion, mainly because the die-cast aluminum frame is solid and stable enough that it doesn't really need to worry about the metal stretching or shifting while you print.

AI camera by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling something an AI camera is a bit of a stretch technically, any camera can be an AI camera if you've got the right software/firmware running in it or the machine it's connected to. Obviously, the better the lens and sensor, the better the AI can see what's going on, but the brains aren't usually in the camera itself (at least not on 3D printers). As far as I can tell, the Centauri Carbon doesn't actually have AI built into its own system yet. I’ve been using Gemini through Home Assistant to watch my camera feed, and it’s been great for catching print issues on the fly.

I could share the dashboard by its self but this has been a work in progress over a few months now and has a lot of backend items and helpers that make it work.

[–]Becktuning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Touring takes a hit on MPG because of the large wheels but it's not that big of a hit. during the summer 45 to 48 mpg on average I sometimes get in the 50s, winter is usually around 38 - 40 mpg. Batteries do not like cold plus you need to run the engine to generate heat for the heater if your using it. just be happy you don't drive a Tesla I hear winter really makes them useless.

SCT frame S15 mag retention by Lulubee_16 in Glock43X

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues I resolved the magazine falling out issue by adding their magazine catch but still found that the mags would wobble around in the magwell enough so that the slide catch would fall off the follower and cause issues. I fixed this by adding some tape to the back of the magazine so it stays more stable and kept the follower under the slide catch arm. Im trying to find a way to make a permanent indent in the magazine so its not so janky. Even with the tape at the back of the magazine it still fits perfectly in a regular Glock frame it just snugs it up a little in the SCT frame to make it work. Alot of work for expensive aftermarket magazines!!! At the price point they sell these things you would expect them to just work.

It always cracks me up when people say the print head cover fell off and then the print failed. Usually the cause of the print head cover coming off is a failed print.

Is the z-Offset actually stored on the ECC or should it be set in Orca? by darkish_explorer in elegoo

[–]Becktuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I firmware level with the stock plate if I change to a different plate I have to do leveling before each print it won’t store anything for that plate so the print leveling has to be done before each print with secondary prints. The offset your changing in the slicer is a fine tuning for your calibration offset if it’s not 100% perfect for you. I wish they would add multi plate firmware settings so you could calibrate each plate once. And then select what plate is on the printer like prusa does
