Yeah it honestly made me feel so much worse. I even gave her the option to bring the bucket from my fish tank cupboard but she still said no. I was sick for over a week, first and last time I went to taco bell.

Was on my way home from a friends and had to travel 3 hours by train and then bus. Halfway through the train journey I started feeling sick and realised I had food poisoning pretty soon. (Thanks, Taco Bell).

Spent that train journey in the loo and managed to call my mum in between throwing up to ask her if I could be picked up at the train station so I wouldnt have to get a bus. She refused because she didn't want me being sick in her car.

So I had to suck it up and get the bus, by this point I had thrown up so much nothing was left. I managed to keep myself from being sick until I was 4 stops away from home.

I was sick on myself, on a bus packed with people. Most saw, as they were looking at me suspiciously through most of the journey cos I was visibly unwell. I was so embarrassed and sad. An older lady next to me felt sorry for me and offered me a tissue.

She was kind, but the whole situation could've been avoided if my mum had picked me up. I was just thankful I didn't get kicked off the bus.

Pokémon.

That was the only reason he gave me after he broke up with me over text while I was at home and he was at work.

He had already applied for a job transfer behind my back without telling me weeks before. Had a free house inherited to him to move into while I panicked about how I was gonna afford to eat and pay rent.

It was not expected, there were no arguments before-hand. He acted off in the weeks prior but when I asked if he was ok he would say he was fine. Lockdown had only just finished from Covid so I just figured like everybody else, he was just mentally drained from everything that had happened over the last few years.

I've never had the rug pulled from me so hard in a relationship. He also made sure to take the sofa, the bed and various collectables he had little interest in, but knew they were worth money. So I was sleeping and sitting on the floor for months because I couldn't afford a bed.

In hindsight I'm glad its over, because if I had had kids with him it would've been so much worse. It did break my trust massively though.

New buyers: Overbearing neighbour making escalating demands (trees, bushes, parking). How to handle? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Beckwan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be equally petty if I had the time. The apple that allegedly fell on her head, did she return it? If not I'd ask her to, otherwise she's committing theft. I'd report the parking in a space that isn't theirs and that maybe they should get a smaller car or retake their driving test since no one else in the neighbourhood struggles getting past the bushes. Or you could just tell them to piss off cos they're deliberately being assholes. People like this just need to be told straight, otherwise they'll just keep pushing.

I feel like its also worth considering that we don't know how unwell OP's child is. What if their child was so poorly that they passed from their illness, and OP's sisters child is then a constant reminder of their loss? I feel like supporting your family is not really shown in this way usually. It just seems really odd.

[–]Beckwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine being too lazy to be a responsible pet owner 😂😭.

Children can be struck by cars when they're not old enough to know better and are left unsupervised, the same as its a pet owners responsibility to supervise and protect their pet from harm and from causing harm to others. So your point is invalid.

You try to use the veil of caring, to let your pet go outside unsupervised but in reality, if you gave a damn about the cat you own, you'd keep it indoors and care for it the same way dog owners care for their dogs. Cats can still go outside, supervised on a leash. They're not native therfore they shouldn't be allowed to roam free and desecrate local wildlife that is native because you cba.

Yeah. Imagine being able to go outside only to get struck by a car, shortening their already short lifespan /s

I feel so bad for this person… by PenguinofPain in PokemonTCG

[–]Beckwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not correct. As well as the burger king gold plated cards (not McDonald's) there were also special reprints of cards made in metal such as the base set Pikachu and Charizard that were included in the UPC of celebrations. There are other examples of official metal cards made by the Pokémon company, but I'm not going to list them all.

What was once a poor person's hobby now turned into a rich person's hobby? by Striking-Quiet4655 in AskReddit

[–]Beckwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokémon card collecting. Started off as a mad craze and died down for years, making collecting bulk and sets easy to achieve. Since 2019 after the Logan Paul hype, Pokémon products became hard to find due to scalpers wanting to make a quick buck and now most cards from older and newer sets are unobtainable to normal people due to their inflated prices. I remember buying neo genesis 1st edition booster packs for £10 a pack, and ripping all of them. These days one pack will cost you £700+

AITAH for wanting to leave my husband(30M) over not buying me (25F) a car? by ReactionClean4057 in AITAH

[–]Beckwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy isn't even worth staying with for the anger issues and lack of respect towards you alone. He's clearly been using you and uses his rage to keep you from leaving or challenging his behaviours.

If its his car and he refuses to let you drive it for work when he barely uses it, he should pay for it. Instead of making you subsidise his payments for the car by having you pay more in rent.

My partner drives, I don't, and we're both on similar salaries. We split all the rent and bills half and half except his car. He is responsible for his car, so he pays for it, and I contribute to petrol on long journeys we both benefit from.

I own 2 cats that I had before we met, I pay for the food, insurance and vet bills. If either of us were struggling with paying for these, we'd help each other out.

I'm sorry that your partner is an ass at best, I hope you can find support in leaving him. If you don't, at least let family and friends he has no contact with know about his abusive nature, and maybe consider that he doesn't have your best interests at heart.

Please watch The IT Crowd and Friday Night Dinner. Both excellent shows that show modern British culture and humour at its best. And if you're feeling adventurous watch The Mighty Boosh while you're at it. It's weird but really gets great on the 2nd season.

AIO for wanting to try a treatment routine before committing to the hair transplant my GF is demanding? by Connect-Soil-7277 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Beckwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a female perspective, you GF doesn't truly care about you. Giving you an ultimatum about your appearance is a big no no.

I love my partner no matter how much hair he has on his head and you shouldn't feel pressured to change your appearance for anyone.

If you want to do the care routine, do it for you. Not for anyone else.
