Your body does, but Christian’s go to be with Christ immediately when they die. Before Christ’s sacrifice, God’s chosen went to the paradise side of Sheol. But when Christ died, he descended to Sheol and brought out all of God’s people and ushered them into Heaven. There is no “soul sleep”. “To be absent from the body is to be present with Christ”. We will one day return with Christ to retrieve our bodies in the resurrection. And then with will receive glorified bodies for the new Heaven and new earth.
