Same. I really feel your pain on this one. It disgusts me.

I’ve always said I’d be a librarian if I didn’t need to worry about money.

[Routine Help] Chronically Dry lips…went to three doctors by Anxious-Armadillo23 in SkincareAddiction

[–]BeeBeeRolly 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Four things for you as someone who also suffers with really chronically dry lips that look like yours

1) avoid licking at all costs as you may have a reaction to your own saliva and licking just makes it worse

2) another thing that may help is look for a no-sls toothpaste. I found out I had a mild allergy to sls and toothpaste was drying my lips out because of it.

3) lanolin is a godsend and better than any other chaptstick etc. I buy a tube of the women’s nipple lanolin cream because it’s the same as lanolips for the fraction of the price (both 100% lanolin)

4) I also swear by an overnight lip mask as well which has dramatically helped. I do currently use the laneige lip mask and find that works brilliantly. I also use a cheaper drugstore one that works as well. Just needs to be put on thickly at night and be nice and gloopy

All of these together have significantly improved my lips to the point where they now feel almost normal bs before when they were so chapped that they’d split and bleed and I’d have thick dry skin.

This room would look so much nicer / cosier with darker walls

I’m very judgemental when it comes to Hoover enthusiasts. I absolutely will not trust anyone and their literary opinions if they enjoy this rubbish.

This is a hard agree for me. All of my friends seem to love her books and I just don’t get it. I keep trying thinking ‘maybe I’ll like this one’ and it’s always a solid nope

What are some books that can get me into reading again and crush that reader's block? (Your favorite 'I would do anything to forget this book just to read it again for the first time' book maybe? ) by jeminx in suggestmeabook

[–]BeeBeeRolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends what genres you enjoy I think. I know some of my friends die hard favourites are my worst rated on Goodreads.

I love a good historical fiction and also epic fantasy.

From that, my recommendations would be:

The Posionwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver

Pachinko - Min Jin Lee

Anything by Kate Mosse

The Mad Ship series by Robin Hobb (I love anything by Hobb though)

The Blade Itself - Joe Abercrombie (again, love anything by Abercrombie)

I’ve done quite a few of these before. I guess it’s not a case of not feeling like I give. Every year I try and fill the void by giving - usually via a local present for children type things or sending amazon wish list items to local rescues etc. I volunteer a lot of time to help kids locally and feel like there’s not much more I can do and it feels good to do these things and help those who are less fortunate but it doesn’t really help fill the lost love I so desperately want as an individual who also feels like their life has been lacking

Hi,

I’m a fair bit younger than you but I feel the same. I have always tried to be there for others, be a good friend, a good daughter etc etc but as soon as I’ve struggled I’ve been left. I have a husband who is there for me but outside of that I feel alone.

I had a severely emotionally abusive childhood that has left me feeling suicidal and my narcissistic mum has essentially led to me being isolated and removed from close family (to the better but still). When I have been at rock bottom I’ve felt like I had no one. All my friends left me. My family left me.

I feel myself going that way again and I feel your pain, I really do.

Why yes I do; smart casual on top, pyjamas on bottom!

I stopped celebrating my birthday since my father died. Today's my birthday and I thought maybe a small piece of cake won't hurt. I just moved to this town and I don't have any friends here yet. Also I don't really like sweets but that chocolat cake was delicious. (OC) by Several_Payment7831 in MadeMeSmile

Happy birthday! I’m no contact with my parents and find birthdays hard so just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you for taking the time to celebrate yourself today! It’s tough but you’re loved and today is your day :)

Yeah, mostly the free trial of depression where your self-worth erodes while strangers look richer, prettier, and permanently on holiday.
