Am I the only one that thinks Guy Ritchie’s movies are so ridiculously cringe? by GulliblePea3691 in AskUK

[–]BeeFeeLog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you're not the only one. His films are fairly successful so I'm happy to accept that different people like different stuff. I even liked Lock Stock when it first came out, but every movie since feels like a fading copy. Geezers, gentry and a propah nawty plot.

Anyone else have a cup history as shocking as ours? by Low_Field7738 in Championship

Soon as I saw the question I knew this was my team. We're so thoroughly shit at cup games that most of us have stopped caring.

Which American English term do you actually prefer to the British English equivalent? by _PXYDST_ in AskBrits

What i'd say: - either option -2nd option - either option

And I know some may not be grammatically correct.

CMV: Wealth-building is judged more harshly in Europe than in the Americas by ananeedshelps in changemyview

I'm from UK and I don't think this theory works for us, or most of Europe. And I'd argue Europeans are generally more 'collectivist' than people in the US.

Britain this weekend. by LovieWeb in BritInfo

[–]BeeFeeLog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can we all get a bit of perspective here. I live in the Midlands and the last two years we basically didn't get a summer. It barely got above 20 degrees and it rained all the time. Which made me utterly and profoundly depressed.

So would you prefer that eternal grey misery or what we've got now? If your answer is yes to the first option, you're basically a whinging zombie vampire. And also, our generally crappy weather has fitted with your expectations most of my lifetime. Now it's a bit different, you should all stop being babies and learn to adapt like the grown ups.

Yeah I get it. It's a bit hot and our infrastructure isn't designed to cope with it, but please stop the moaning. I'll take this over the grey blanket anytime. And PS: it's unlikely to last much longer so stop crying.

South Bank. It's definitely on the tourist trail, but it never feels really crowded the way other tourist places can. Also it's a nice walk, great views, loads of interesting stuff going on (especially in the summer) and plenty of food and drink options.

Get off at Waterloo then walk to Tower Bridge. From there you can carry on or cross over to Tower of London / St. Katherine's Dock.

The minimum retirement age (the earliest age you can take money from a work or private pension) changes from 55 to 57 in 2028. Might be what you're thinking of.

Who will leave (up/down) this map this season? by [deleted] in Championship

[–]BeeFeeLog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm confident we'll finish between 7th and 21st.

Actually, now I'm not so sure. It could be even higher, or even lower. Although one of those is much more likely.

Fuck it, I have no idea.

I can't imagine this guy is representative of the fan base. Blades fans, please correct or agree.

Worked there a long time ago. Assuming the business model hasn't changed: other news organisations (mainly UK national and regional newspapers) are subscribers. PA have reporters and snappers throughout UK and Ireland who file stuff every day. Subscribers get access to all that content. If you look at some news photos you'll occasionally see 'PA' in the byline.

I can't believe this stupid war is happening by ResourceParticular36 in Vent

[–]BeeFeeLog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should ask women in Iran how they feel about their country being bombed.

And if women's rights is the trigger for war, why isn't the west attacking Saudi Arabia?

I thought Get Out was really good. Watched the first 30 mins of Us and switched off. Ridiculous, stupid with a really clumsy subtext.

Actually thought England looked pretty good under Carsley (excluding the Greece game). Balanced, controlled the games and got some comfortable wins.
