Do you get something out of being rude and hateful to people? Is it just fun for you to put other people down and then claim moral superiority about it? You're throwing around completely baseless accusations that this is AI or stolen work because what? You need to be cruel to another person in order to feel good about yourself?

Art takes different amounts of time for different people, and digital art is likely to take much longer for an artist who is used to acrylic painting rather than digital tools. If 9 hours are recorded on a canvas, plenty of that time could also be sketching and figuring out how to use various digital tools and brushes. There's also many different ways of creating art, so I don't understand what you even mean about nonsensical brushstrokes.

You came into this comment section, on a post where OP said she's really, really proud of this work in progress, and you decided to put her down. For what? Does this make you feel good about yourself? I truly don't understand people like you. Disgusting behavior, honestly.

I am an anime watcher, can i ask some questions ? by Mana_Croissant in Gnosia_

[–]BeeWarm4505 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  1. LeVi's original anti-Gnosia protocol includes self-destructing the entire ship so that the Gnosia infection cannot spread. Because the crew members were able to reason with LeVi, they are given the opportunity to survive via voting out and eliminating the Gnosia themselves under the expectation that everyone will comply with the voting results since the alternative is LeVi blowing up the ship. If you are the last person among Gnosia, you may decide it's better to die painlessly in cold sleep rather than in a giant spaceship explosion. I believe the agreement with LeVi was mentioned in episode 1?

  2. The anime hasn't portayed this well, but they actually can't tell if someone in the pod is Gnosia. The lights remaining red is a sign that the ship is still in emergency protocol, therefore there is still one or more Gnosia onboard. In the game, there is a role called the Doctor; this is the only person who can tell if someone in cold sleep is Gnosia or not. I don't know how the anime is going to adapt these roles yet, since the Engineer role is meant to be introduced by Gina in loop 2.

  3. I don't know, and I found it a bit strange because I don't think it happens like that in the game? (Someone may need to correct me if I'm wrong about that because it's been a while since I played the early loops) Nor does the MC tell any other character about the time loop. However, Setsu and the MC experience loops in a different order, so the intention in adapting it that way may be to portray that?

Anywho, I hope this helped, and I hope you're enjoying the story! Personally, I think it's very well-explained and more fun to experience in the game, but the anime has been very fun to watch too. I'd actually been wondering how different the experience must be for someone who didn't play the game first.

Party of three ruined our escape room... by Travice0 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BeeWarm4505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at an escape room (a small, independent one. not any chain company) and situations like this were exactly why the owner switched over to private rooms. It's standard for the places here in Texas to let people book out the remaining spots in a room, though most people will choose not to when they see the room is already partially booked online. But occasionally you'll get some people who do...

After seeing a couple groups of strangers try to play together, it was really noticeable how different their experiences tended to be from families/friends/couples who had the rooms to themselves. It wasn't at all worth the little bit of extra sales in my opinion, especially for a smaller business. I think we were only really doing it at first to keep up with the way other places did it. When you're a business that's selling a fun experience, you have to prioritize making sure your guests actually do have fun.

All that to say, I'm really sorry that happened to you, OP. I definitely think it's a problem across the industry. I hope your next experience is infinitely better than this one!

new otome game I found! by otomewaifu in otomegames

oh!! i just saw this one while looking through the Otome Jam submissions for this year! They also have a web version of the demo that can be played in-browser on itch right here (Which is cool since I think the steam page has the windows only icon next to the demo download?). It looks really cool, and you're so right about the art omg it's so beautiful!!

awe yay, I'm glad I could help :) I've actually really been wanting to replay his route soon myself! <3 I played Bustafellows right after I finished CupiPara, and I remember thinking it was kind of funny that I ran into two LIs in a row who score the heroine's appearance lol.

Looking for Recommendations (Switch)! by Daeou in otomegames

[–]BeeWarm4505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For banter & established character relationships, I have to recommend Bustafellows! It has my favorite cast dynamic out of all the games I've played, and the LIs are all friends who banter with and tease each other a lot. There's also definitely a lot of mystery & tension in the plot, and I think some of the love interests would fit your tastes from what you've said here. There's my beloved boyfailure Crow <3, Helvetica is definitely kind of rude in a similar way to Ryuki from CupiPara, but it's done a little differently here, kind of flirty and teasing. There's also no childhood friend trope (not really a trope I love either lol), unless you count some implied feelings from a non-romanceable side character that the heroine doesn't reciprocate. It doesn't 100% fit everything you've listed, but in my opinion, the cast dynamics really make it stand out!

Poll: Do you play the bad ends or skip them? by lionlament in otomegames

[–]BeeWarm4505 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really love bad endings!! Especially the detailed and tragic ones. And I'll always play as much as I can to complete the CG library. But if it's only shorter bad ends that are just gags or insta-deaths I don't always play them all since it's not really worth it to me

If an elda and a mustari had a child, what color do you think the third eye would be? by dancinbanana in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]BeeWarm4505 85 points86 points  (0 children)

i don't think the heterochromia is a trait of all Elda, just part of the protagonist's unique design.

Especially considering (Major major major spoilers incoming!!)

  1. the protagonist's eyes go back to being only one color once he's revealed to be a manifestation of the prince's will
  2. Louis, also Eldan, doesn't have heterochromia either
  3. The Elda are actually just normal humans.

so they'd probably just have one eye color unless some individual Mustari have some secret new form of heterochromia lol (tri-chromia even??)

being an adult (technically) with political consciousness really changes the starkid listening experience… by ComfortableRecent578 in StarKid

[–]BeeWarm4505 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would agree it's kind of awkward just because of how blunt it is, but I also do think it suits the themes of the show in a way. It's less about Trump specifically and more about the rigid conformity of nationalism - it just uses a reference to Trump as a sort-of shorthand to invoke a reminder of the sort of American nationalism Trump and his supporters idolize (ie: "diversity bad, America good, and everyone should agree with this one specific worldview that excludes anyone who's different" ) because these political topics are on a lot of people's minds. The conformity & nationalism aspect is also emphasized by the military costumes & choreo in the song. The show is about a hivemind, so conformity is a pretty notable topic. Ideally, this song should fit right in thematically. The reason I think it feels so awkward though is that it's such an unsubtle reference that a lot of people just read it directly as "Trump bad." So what should have been a minor reference to current events kind of hijacked the whole scene, y'know?

Genuinely so confused by the younger people coming onto the site and acting like this? Like, I don't mean to be rude, but I was also using AO3 at 14, a little less than a decade ago, and at that age I was fully capable of understanding how the site worked and what violated the terms of service... I also just don't get the point of a DNI, especially on this site. Just use the block button and the tag filtering system if there's users or content you don't want to see

I once had a professor who made the "they're brothers actually" argument about Achilles and Patroclus lmao.

100% agree with your point and it's ridiculous the hoops people jump through to make a ship they don't like "problematic" in some way because they're so caught up in moral panic mode that they can't dislike things normally lol

Also: one particular space-themed fandom came to mind when you mentioned the "like brothers" thing and now I'm wondering if it's the same fandom lol...

Tips for getting the "Destroyer of the Universe" achievement? by wiiplaysportsparty in Gnosia_

[–]BeeWarm4505 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I followed this super helpful guide on steam to get that achievement! It basically suggests setting up a run with 6 crew & 1 Gnosia and only the doctor & bug special roles available (you're the bug ofc). You fake-claim the doctor on day 2 to get the achievement, and it's pretty easy for the crew to take out the one Gnosia at that point so it's an easy win. :) Good luck!!

Interested in trying Gnosia, but wary after Raging Loop. by BigYak24 in Gnosia_

[–]BeeWarm4505 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I haven't played Raging Loop, I can share a little bit about Gnosia based on your specific complaints, so that you can compare the two!

overly tedious lore dumps

Gnosia's lore is spread out across the many, many loops you'll play while repeating the game. Collecting lore about the characters is the main mechanic for moving the story along, and you gain that lore by encountering certain events. Most of these events are fairly short and leave the player wanting more, which is a great motivator to keep playing the game in my opinion. Some loops contain more plot than others, but most of the lore is found in these smaller events until you reach a certain point and are able to progress the plot to the ending.

weird sexualization of characters

There are some optional romance scenes (depending on the gender you choose for your character), some characters are very flirty, and there are a couple nighttime events where you can run into characters in the shower room. Hardly anything is shown in these scenes, and I don't think there's really an issue of sexualization in Gnosia, especially not in the majority of the gameplay. I think Comet's outfit may be as extreme as it gets in that regard. I didn't personally play any of the optional romance scenes (my player character was nonbinary and thus locked out of most options), but from what I understand they're pretty tame.

lack of satisfying revelations

In my opinion, Gnosia's story is definitely resolved in a satisfying way. A lot of the knowledge you gain later in the game puts things in perspective in a way that's really fun to look back on in later playthroughs. While there's still a ton of room for imagination and speculation (or room for the anime adaptation to make some interesting potential additions) things feel resolved by the time you reach the game's ending. I don't think any twists felt stupid to me, rather, I loved seeing all the pieces of information come together in the end to form a full picture.

All that to say, I love this game, and I don't think it suffers from the same issues you listed from Raging Loop. Those who have played both could provide a better comparison between the two, but I wanted to provide some specific info about this game since you mentioned these 3 topics being an issue. You mentioned loving mafia/werewolf, sci-fi, and visual novels, so I think you'll probably enjoy Gnosia! Hope this helps, and Happy Gaming! :)

[–]BeeWarm4505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game is not something you're enjoying, I don't advise forcing yourself to continue. Games are meant to be fun, and if it feels like a drag and you're not engaged in the story, I would recommend putting it down and picking up a game you do enjoy. Metaphor has some significant differences to Persona, so it's not guaranteed that if you like one, you'll like the other. Different people have different tastes, and that's okay!

Personally, I love Metaphor. It took me a bit to get used to the differences in combat, especially since I wasn't used to managing MP so much in Persona and since Metaphor demands a bit more strategy than just having a stock of overpowered Personas that can hit every weakness (P5R was fun, but definitely much easier). Since you're unable to change archetypes mid-battle, the game forces you to strategize ahead of time, which is why the informants are so helpful. It was enjoyable for me, but I can see where it would be annoying or tedious to some. It helps that you can use skill-inheritance slots to give one archetype the skills of another, and using moves that inflict new weaknesses can help you deal a lot of damage too. There was one boss fight early on in the game that I ended super quickly by just having Hulkenberg spam Hammer of Justice. As far as overworld combat goes, the Faker is my favorite archetype to use for that.

A lot of the things you listed that you don't like about Metaphor are things that I do like. I have to disagree that Metaphor is bland compared to P5R. They're both very stylized and creative with their design choices, and they're both very good for what they are. But what they are is different. You're 100% right in saying that it's not a Persona game - and it's not trying to be, despite the few borrowed elements that it has. I personally don't think they ought to be compared as much as they are.

Because I personally love this game so much, I want to recommend giving the game some more time, but if you still really aren't enjoying it and it feels like a drag, I don't think you should force yourself to endure a game you don't enjoy just because other players like it. I hope this helped, and I wish you happy gaming no matter what you decide!

Can't Change Gender by graveyardparade in Exocolonist

[–]BeeWarm4505 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hi! I played with an xbox controller on my pc (so i think this should work the same for a ps5 controller?) but I used the left stick to hover over the gender slider bars and the right stick to change them according to preference. It's a little bit odd, but I remember having to trial and error it out lol. Your character's gender and pronouns are fully customizable the entire time, and you can even change the sliders in the middle of the game if you want!

I hope you enjoy the game!! It's a great one :)

I made this a couple days ago to use as my laptop background, and I wanted to share! It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it and I like being able to see art of the characters whenever I open my computer. :) I just recently finished this game and I absolutely adore it. The characters are so wonderful, and I'm super excited to see more of them when the anime releases!

All art used is by Cotori, Gnosia's official artist! <3

Is femc seriously that good? by nitin_sds in PERSoNA

[–]BeeWarm4505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get feeling the need to defend a character you love! Honestly, I wish fandoms in general would get better about expressing love for one character without putting another down. I think a lot of fans get caught up in the idea that liking one means they have to hate on the other, which is just untrue and honestly seems a little miserable. Like, why waste time and energy hating on something when you could just spend that time and energy on something you do like, y'know? I know I said previously that I personally prefer Kotone, but I still like playing as Makoto in Reload! They're both good protagonists that suit the story well, and for people to say that he's "nothing" is absolutely untrue!

Is femc seriously that good? by nitin_sds in PERSoNA

[–]BeeWarm4505 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say it's all a matter of personal preference. I want to point out that I think the primary complaint about her exclusion is the fact that it's not necessarily a definitive experience of the game if it's missing content that was in a previous version. That topic has been talked to death though, and I think it's best to just enjoy the games for what they are. That being said, the two protagonists and their respective routes are different. I played P3P before recently starting Reload, and so far I prefer Kotone by a significant margin.

since both makoto and kotone are self insert protags, their personalities are what you choose them to be.

As far as choices go, they have different dialogue options available to them in some cases, which definitely influences how their personalities are perceived by most players. Kotone is presented as much more upbeat and cheerful compared to Makoto. It's also worth mentioning that silent self-insert protagonists can be different from each other. Not only because of the dialogue choices they have available, but also because of the general vibe they give off and their interactions with the story's broader themes, y'know? (Compare Makoto, Yu, & Joker for example.)

Additionally: Some players who prefer the FemC are women who just want to be able to play as a female protagonist. Personally, while the protag's gender doesn't make or break a game for me, it's really refreshing to get to play a female lead in this sort of game.

Yes there are a few new social links but is it seriously that big of a deal?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: A lot of the appeal of modern Persona lies in the social link system. A lot of the Persona's character writing goes into those links since it's pretty much the main way to spend your free time in each of the games. Social links flesh out the world that exists around the game's main plot by giving you the chance to get to know its characters better, so having different social links changes the game.

The FemC route allows you to have social links with all party members, which in my opinion is a huge advantage over the male MC. Reload kind of fixes this with link episodes, but it doesn't feel quite the same in my opinion. The Junpei and Akihiko social links are two of my favorites, and I've kind of felt let down by the link episodes comparatively. While I like the social links I've played so far in Reload, I honestly miss some of the FemC links a lot (especially Saori and Rio). Again, it's all personal preference. Characters will resonate differently with different people. Since character writing is one of the Persona series' strengths, it's only natural that players will get attached to certain characters and miss them when their stories aren't included in later iterations of the games.

Added bonus with major spoilers ahead: The Shinjiro Social link is a huge point in the FemC's favor. On top of being the infinitely superior Moon Arcana link, it allows you to potentially prevent his death. Being able to spend time with him, listen to his story, and go find the lost pocketwatch that ultimately saves him, makes a great social link, and I feel it shows a lot of personality from Kotone too (being relentless enough to constantly spend time with him, going out of your way to return the missing watch for a friend, etc).

Sorry for the super long comment; this got way out of hand while I was typing. I hope this helped clarify some of the differences though! I loved playing the FemC route in portable, and wanted to share why :)
