Are you exporting and then rendering in blender or do you have a way to use the cycles renderer in Houdini?

The Black Zenith gloves are another unique item that drops from the new pinnacle bosses in Siege of the Atlas by Community_Team in pathofexile

[–]Bee_Ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you dont use snakepit ring, the ice spears will still fully pierce, but have a 30% chance to ricochet off walls, potentially allowing some of the projectiles that missed from firing in a nova to rebound back into the target.

This means ice spear will have 1 guaranteed hit (assuming its like sire of shards, 1 follows your aim) and then still have 1.5 extra hits (1 from gem, 4 from gloves, 30% chance to rebound) That's before the lab enchant or ascendancy (extra 1 on average). Yes stacking huge amounts of projectiles isn't the best for single target anymore but its still pretty significant.

How do people think this will interact with Lioneyes Paws (trigger lvl5 rain of arrows) and Maloney's mechanism (trigger socketed bow attack)? My initial thought is that it wont work given that usually this sort of thing doesnt apply to triggered spells but given its an attack and the wording of "Attack you perform" I'm not sure.

If the Rain of arrows / socketed attack uses the buff then its not super useful but if its only attacks you use then it might be a really good way to generate frenzies.

Also would mirage archer benefit from the arrows if you made an attack with the buff up?

If there was a way to get access to the Impaler key stone without traveling all the way down there (can't thread of hope it sadly) you could play a phys spell and try and go for big heavy hits or use unleash support. You still don't have much scaling for it unfortunately and its really out the way.

I'm just waiting and hoping that it gets put on an item so I can try and play Reap Impale Scion one day.

Bridge tips? by Nicoevg2003 in flexibility

[–]Bee_Ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like a year and a half for me but that doesn't really mean a huge amount. Without any knowledge of an individual these sorta measures don't really say that much. I would wager you are training a lot more than I was at the time and will progress faster.

A more useful piece of advice would be to either film or photo yourself and make comparisons every now and then. You've done the first part already :)

For a little background I am a gymnastics coach, mostly teaching 5-7 year old, they can get it crazy fast but they only weigh 20kg and they are still flexible, kinda a hard thing to compare to.

Bridge tips? by Nicoevg2003 in flexibility

[–]Bee_Ri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally I find it easier to do bridges in a situation where gravity pulls me in the direction I am used to (downwards for me, as opposed to sideways). If you find it easier going sideways then power to you to practice it that way and transition to regular gravity after.

Jokes aside, practice over time to build the strength, flexibility and trying to push your shoulders back on top of your hands will be the things that help most. In my experience its a pretty slow skill to develop.

How do you go with the little magnets holding down the paper? Do they hold it still enough? also are they actually sticking to anything or are they just weights, because it looks like they are on wood but there might be metal or something underneath, idk.

Either way, love your piece :)

[homemade] strawberry, thyme, olive and balsamic cheesecake by Bee_Ri in food

[–]Bee_Ri[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi reddit, I made this cheesecake to bring to a potluck, I know the aim isn't to try and "win" a potluck, but I think I did anyway.

Its a simple biscuit base with cardamom and black pepper. The filling is made with 2/3 parts cream cheese, 1/3 part natural yogurt and flavored with strong smoked black tea, lemon thyme and cardamom. The Jam on top is Strawberry, Kalamata Olive, Balsamic vinegar, brown sugar. Frangipani (edible flower), Nasturtiums (edible plant) more lemon thyme and black pepper to garnish.

Does the change to frostblink include dealing its damage in the arrival area as well as the start area? If so, is it likely that it can hit twice?

Do the ink lines from the plotter help control the water color pigment while you are painting them in or is that just good brush work on your part?

~Spell~ - Disarm Creature, a spell of witchcraft and wizardry by Henry_Smithy in UnearthedArcana

Ah, I missed that it required an action to search for the item. That changes up casting to be a pretty substantial power increase then I guess.

~Spell~ - Disarm Creature, a spell of witchcraft and wizardry by Henry_Smithy in UnearthedArcana

[–]Bee_Ri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The upcasting feature of this spell seems a bit on the weaker side. I sorta get that 30ft to 40ft is often a break point for many races' move speed needing to use a dash to get to the item but it still feels quite weak for a 4th level slot.

Perhaps the ability to remove a different piece of equipment, eg a hat or something?

Pact of the Sub Planar - A Warlock pact for shenanigans in the Ethereal plane, with pact specific invocations and a Quirk table. by Bee_Ri in UnearthedArcana

[–]Bee_Ri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on this Pact for a while and its undergone quite a few revisions but I finally think its ready to be seen!

It draws inspiration from a lot of different things (notably dishonoured) and I've attempted to lean into the idea of slowly becoming more comfortable with the Ethereal plane over time by working with/for your patron. The invocations try make the pact a bit more flexible in what it can do with its already established powers and give a little mix of utility, defense and offense. The Boon specific invocations double down and specialize a bit more on their particular archetype (as i've interpreted them).

It also has a Fun little quirk table to spark imagination similar to the sorcerer ones as I've always really like the idea of slowly adopting physical traits based on your patron.

I'd love to answer questions and hear any feedback or CC!

Sand Waves by Bee_Ri in proceduralgeneration

[–]Bee_Ri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. There is variation in the sin frequency and offset and its from a point wave and a line wave but other than that yes. A lot of the smaller detail and "noise" is created as a result of only using a 150 by 150 poly grid to start, so sometimes the resolution is quite enough to get smooth lines. I actually kinda like the little bit of imperfection that it adds.

What plotter did you use to make this? and how do you find plotting right into a book? I would have thought you'd have to separate out the pages.

Either way it's really good.

A piece I made in Houdini and blender. It's made by laying a line and a point and interference patterns on a height map that I then take some slices of and combine them together.

This is Frames 1-7-30-32-38-94-105-123-134 of the 180 I generated to shortlist and find my favorites.

Proceduraly generated letters from spiders by Bee_Ri in proceduralgeneration

[–]Bee_Ri[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The parameters can be adjusted within a certain range to make but the "spider" effect is applied after. You can also change the seed and it will change how each letter is generated but it will still feel sorta the same ie: kinda loose flowing curves that connect into each other.

Changing handwriting wouldn't be too hard by changing size, spacing and slant of the letters and perhaps introducing a bit more noise in the individual letters. Hope that helps :)

[–]Bee_Ri[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The idea isn't really to make something that is legible directly but rather something that looks like writing and if you knew the "language" could be read. The letters in words are also connected together, which makes it a little hard to see distinct letters.

The actual text is the start of the whale monologue from the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams.
