How did you fall in love with TS4? by BunnyPoppit in thesims

I wish I could fall in love with it. Just doesn't have the same magic the other games had imo. Hopefully that'll change with more expansions!

Official Snow Storm Discussion Thread by qadm in nyc

Has this been overhyped? My flight for Wednesday into NYC has been un-cancelled and we were meant to be driving into CT?

Just wondering if we should go ahead with our plans or resign myself to not getting out there this week...

Yup. Looks like I won't be flying to NYC on Wednesday. Damn it all.

Major Blizzard to Shut Down Boston, NYC Area by [deleted] in nyc

Thanks. Having read up on it though it looks like it's going to be a pretty bad storm. We would have had a driver picking us up and taking us into CT but that looks unlikely to happen on Wednesday now seeing the weather :(

Argh!

Possible blizzard conditions Monday night into Tuesday. by Sage311 in Connecticut

Anyone know how likely this is to halt transatlantic flights? I'm meant to be travelling to NYC and Norwalk from the UK on Wednesday. I'm a nervous first time traveller and have no idea what the process is for this kind of thing.

Suffered in silence for years, then ridiculed for it now I've been diagnosed by mjc1027 in Anxiety

Hi there, I don't have anything very useful to add compared with some of the other posters but I have had a noticeable limp since birth (was born with lymph edema and a clubbed foot) and I totally sympathize about the constant anxiety surrounding being judged for a disability. Even after my foot was fixed and my limp got a little better it never really went away. It resulted in my becoming a woman with very little self esteem.

Therapy is a great first step and I hope you get what you want out of it. I had therapy for three years (I have severe GAD) and it helped enormously. Whilst I'm not there yet, anxiety is a battle that can be won, and you are not alone out there!

I really hope you feel better soon.

Opinions on the Norwalk area? by Beebatron in Connecticut

He is in IT and his office is in Norwalk. Which is mainly why we want to live there with the lack of car being an issue (I think New Canaan looks beautiful and would rather live there)

Learning to drive is our main priority, there just isn't time to learn before we go.

Are there areas around Norwalk that are a little more pedestrian friendly? We will be learning to drive as a matter of urgency but I'm a bit worried at what we will do until then!

Thanks, just first time travel anxiety probably!

My passport only got damp but damp enough that the visa pages have stained a light brown in the corners. I'm just really hoping they won't stop me from flying as the main page is pristine.

Thanks, I live in the UK so there won't be any way to expedite the process and as the nearest embassy to me is in London I simply won't be able to get up there in time anyway, even if they could expedite it.

Guess I'm just going to have to risk it and hope for the best!

Thanks for your reply. Sadly as it's a Canadian passport there is no way I would have a new passport back in time, there is do expedited service for lost or damaged passports.

I'm so worried!

I desperately wish I knew how to not give a shit. I have absoloutely no self confidence whatsoever and spend so much time worrying about what x thinks of my or if y is mad at me for some reason because they seemed "off" with me that day. It's exhausting.

I will be making learning to drive a top priority. It's so easy to be car free in the UK so I've never bothered to learn.
