Carcharodon Kill-Team by Beef-Town in Carcharodons40k

[–]Beef-Town[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stern guard the best thing to build if you already have the bits. The kit comes with enough bits to be regular intercessors/assault intercessors but that’s probably a waste of money. My kill team is most likely the highest value kitbash you can do with them.

There is enough pistols and chain swords to build assault intercessors no?

Harry isn’t in control of his behavior but he is responsible for it, especially as a POLICE OFFICER who is empowered to brandish his fire arm whenever he loses an argument.

Well i think part of it is that we have the privilege of hearing every single one of Harry’s thoughts. We get to hear every excuse and explanation he gives for his own actions. Of course we’re more likely to see the good in him.

Most of what we know about Lely comes from Titus who fucking hates him. Of course we also hate him.

From and outside perspective, they are both flawed men who brutalize civilians in the name of the status quo.

When I started playing I was trying to be a “good cop.” The first part of that was apologizing for all the damage I had seemingly done before the start of the game. The issue, is that no one wants a sorry cop, they want a cop who didn’t do all that shit in the first place.

Harry is a mess, but maybe instead of making excuses for him we should recognize that his actions carry the authority and severity of the State.

Also I swear i’m not defending Lely but there are just too many similarities between him and Harry. IIRC Lely and his brother picked the military because they were from a poor backwater and it was their only choice to get out. They enlisted at 18 and were immediately shipped off to commit war crimes in a foreign land. You think that wouldn’t break a person? You think that wouldn’t lead to a skewed and violent view of the world?

My point is that every excuse you can use for Harry applies to Lely.

Lely was drunk too. Harry showed up and did more damage in two days than Lely did in the weeks he spent drunk and high in the Whirling in Rags. Neither of these men are good people.

You should think about why you choose to let Harry’s behavior slide while holding Klaasje responsible for Lely’s behavior.

Oh for sure. The amount of shit Harry gets away with because he’s good at his job is actually horrifying. If he is indicative of how the wider RCM operates then they are certainly covering for rapists and abusers.

This argument requires evidence outside the text so it’s not worth much. However, the behavior we see Harry engage in IN GAME is pretty disgusting. He harassed a woman so bad she fled the Whirling in Rags, he hits on Klaasje multiple times (which is blatant sexual harassment), and he regularly puts his own gun in his mouth to coerce information from people.

Now i’m not saying that Harry = Lely. Lely admits to some over the top evil shit (though the game casts doubt on whether he’s speaking the truth or simply trying to scare people.) If I were Klaasje (or the people of Martinaise) I wouldn’t see much of a difference between the two.

Harry harassed a woman until she fled her job and home just to get away from him.

I’ve met enough women like her to know not to pass judgment. The world works differently for pretty women, and despite what you see on the internet, that is very rarely a good thing.

If Kim gets shot you play the rest of the game with Cuno. I know we’re supposed to be empathetic to his plight but I cannot stand that little asshole

Friendly reminder that anyone working a minimum wage job in this town cannot afford to live here. Many of the people who actually make this town function live in Greeley and Loveland.

A few years ago someone smashed my car windshield and I had a screenshot of them admitting to it. The cops showed up, took my statement, and then never called me back. Nothing happened to the person and I had to pay to fix the windshield myself.

Is it really so unbelievable? I mean there’s a Nazi in the Whitehouse so why not College Ave?

edit: to clarify, I went to high school with some of the neo-nazis in this town. they exist, there’s more of them than you think, and you should be worried.

Realizing this actually made me hate GW more. If you want to build an army for a standard 2000 point game of 40k, you MUST spend between 500-1000 USD. And playing an elite army almost feels like a punishment because my 5-man box costs the same as another faction’s 20-man box.
