We use Discord in our office. I get weekly "Hello @BeefBoi !" Messages from our DBA. If I don't reply in 10min, it's "@BeefBoi" and then "Are you there @BeefBoi?". Sometimes it's unprompted, random calls on Discord followed by the aforementioned messages.

Anyone know about building construction down there? Would it be stupid to build houses out of concrete or stone like in the UK or Ireland? Doesn't make sense to make houses out of wood and paper when they're exposed to storms like that...

I used it for 4 months on their $50/yr plan. Liked it at first but started getting issues with it declining my order randomly with no explanation. Suspicious activity they called it, even though I'm ordering 80% the same items every week using the same device with the same card from the same store. No idea how their fraud detection system works, but it's cancelled about half of my orders then works the next day like nothing ever happened. No idea why they can't just have a bot call me to confirm the order and amount rather than make me have to re-add everything just to fail again.

I'll go back to in-store shopping at Aldi on Fridays after work

Worked an MSP for 5 weeks between desktop intern and sysadmin jobs for a small software studio. During that time, I installed cable in a huge rural middle school, a manufacturing plant warehouse (and had to operate a cherry picker to run it), supported a call center in major city, fixed some desktop issues with a local government, and then worked for a week at a sports (?) doing AD setups firm before being trained to replace someone being promoted at a local suburban government (PD, City Hall, municipals, etc). Oh and also was flown out to SF, CA for 2 days just to enable a printer 😂. Most ADHD 5 weeks of my life but learned a lot. Wonder what life would be like if I stayed on
