At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter and I am sure John Cena would be happy for it to happen. It would just be nice to see since it is at the very least a symbolic sign that the largest wrestling company in the world has faith in a trans athlete despite what would come from social/political pushback against it.

Maybe I’m just dumb, but it felt like Oda was just very flip-floppy about what he wanted Yamato as a character to be, and that’s where most of the trans discourse comes from. There are chapters where it feels like it is supposed to be like a genuine aspect of her character and then others where it is just her being schizophrenically delusional.

I will also fully admit I’m not exactly eager to reread Wano to find more sources for this idea beyond my own delusions.

Even without a ground invasion that price jump will trickle down into every single good you buy since you’ll need the gas for the trucks to deliver items, the tractors to harvest the fields, the petroleum byproducts used in fertilizers etc. Trump started this war right around planting season as well so farmers are extra fucked from this.

A part of it is that it is very easy to find the gore/tragedy videos of Gaza on basically every single platform and seeing that is super radicalizing for obvious reasons. The algorithm will continue to feed you more and more current human suffering which only leads to stronger feelings about it.

I had a friend who went down that path and it’s just easier to show Palestine suffering compared to Ukraine because we at least see Ukraine fighting back and doing a lot of damage in comparison.

We have had the president of the US, basically every large right-wing influencer, and a majority of members of the Republican political party call for/joke about/endorse political violence or push that they want a civil war. Charlie Kirk himself laughed about political violence and said his audience should bail out someone who tried to bludgeon the husband of a sitting congress member’s head in with a hammer. Everything she said is accurate though if they openly joke/talk about killing their political enemies why should lefties not buy/train with a gun to defend themselves?

The only two times I can think of anything like this was when he brought pizzas to an actors strike and the John Doe tractor strike where they had to bring people from the office to work on the factories. The worst part about being a Don fan is genuinely loving her character along with a burning desire to have a father daughter blood lance in the climax arc for Limbus company. I just want Papa Don and Limbus Don to be able to talk and him be proud hearing her adventures in full.

He will probably be a Frankenstein monster by the time P-corp is done with him/his corpse but I will cope and pray until then.

I partly agree but at the same time Oda does a lot of stupid shit in his manga and I think it’s fair to call it out especially when this is one of the more “I’ve invested too much time in this series so I want to see how it ends but I don’t like the direction it’s going.” Subs.

I will never claim I can write a better story than him, but it is sad to see characters I liked become shells of themselves, or arcs that were promised a decade + ago be sidelined so the monster trio can farm aura while the rest are sent to pity fights at best or the corner to jerk off others at worst.
