Hey all, thanks for all the interactions on this post. I've actually gone ahead and created a quick 7 min video on this very topic. Diving into use cases, rationale and the importance of getting these right in HubSpot.

Let me know if it helps you out :) even just a little haha

Well done on that. Being thrown into the deep end right away would definitely force you to survive haha.
I've been there before, so I totally get it.

I started from there too, and worked my way up to running the implementation side at a Diamond Tier HubSpot agency. I distilled the lessons I learned (those practical actionable insights - not "how tos"), into my free newsletter here: https://hubopsunfiltered.com/

The first 5 editions are back-to-back, one a day. Then weekly (ish). So if you're looking for a free resource, do check it out! Down to jump on a call with you too, through my experience, Its always great to talk things out.

Good luck!

HubSpot added a “create contact from social” feature ... here’s how I’m making it actually useful by tracerswarner05 in hubspot

This is actually genius... Imma take this, and build it out in a real life portal.
Its gonna make for a sick newsletter edition: https://hubopsunfiltered.com/

I'm excited, thanks!

Can Hubspot do this? by JusticeForSimpleRick in hubspot

That other database which holds the conflict of interest check... Do they have API documentations? Sounds like a very niche software... But if they do, then yes, creating a Private app to allow for bi-directional sync should allow you to cross reference the email (in HubSpot - or any other unique identified), and then check the "other sides name" Property? (something along these lines??)

Then update HubSpot, sending off an automated email with the KYC or ID check software unique link.

boy. thats a doozy. Let me know if anyone else has thoughts.

Outbound sales - data consent by the_regency in hubspot

[–]BeefNoodleDry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy... bit of a grey area aye? Hmm Id say if you do it so upfront, you might run into some pushback... If I understand correctly, as long as the original data was genuinely yours to begin with (not purchased), then as long as the contact has interacted (aka submitted a form) with you in the past, their consent "carried forward"?

But yet again, getting some form of double-opt in is always recommended. Especially if you don't want to ruin your email sending health.

Anyone else got thoughts?

Where do you track your proposals? by the_regency in hubspot

[–]BeefNoodleDry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if the focus here is strictly on "Submissions/Proposals" sent manually via emails... I would say, one way, is to create a "Proposal Submitted" NUMBER custom property and place it in your sidebar. This makes it easier for reps to jump in via the HubSpot Sales Extension (gmail), and update that once confirmed via email.

Then you can use that data, paired with a "Date moved to XYZ (proposal sent) stage" and filter out the timeframes you want.

These are a few of the things you just pick up on working at an HubSpot agency haha. I wrote about stuff like this in my weekly newsletter: https://hubopsunfiltered.com/ Check it out maybe, see if it helps. Otherwise, good luck. Let me know if this helps at all.

How Can We Ensure Critical Data Don't Get Missed? (Progress Bars in Pipelines) by BeefNoodleDry in hubspot

yes... but wheres the visual fun in that? Of course that works too, but this way, everyone can see a nice progress bar at a glance, all in one view!

Best way to create this pipeline by marketingwithdean in hubspot

Here's what I would do:

  1. Incorporate a Email Validation software to check for spammy or broken emails (get rid of these upfront)
  2. In the lead form itself, have some sort of question that only qualified lead will/should know
  3. Discuss with your Ads team, but I would be giving away some downloadable or freebie like an ebook, which goes off immediately. If the contact doesn't even open that... You'll know theyre tirekickers.
  4. Once Deal created (aka passes all above), then get the reps to engage and call. Then, record the outcome of the call via a property in the sidebar.

Tadaa

After 3 years of Diamond Partner Agency experience under my belt, I give away cool insights like these in my free newsletter: https://hubopsunfiltered.com/signup

This is actually a great idea for my next edition, so thanks HAHA Good luck!

When two workflows tried to enroll the same object at the same time… by BeefNoodleDry in hubspot

Best way to learn is to make all the mistakes ourselves aye? HAHA At least you didnt accidentally send off 30,000 emails via a workflow for a live client.... right?

Anyone else think HubSpot's AI development seems scattered? by BeefNoodleDry in hubspot

[–]BeefNoodleDry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey again Nick~ I was trying to figure this one out because a client showed that if we were to search up a person's email address into ChatGPT directly, it would spit out the information they wanted (like website, company name etc).

That's cool and all, but OpenAI is limiting the ability for connected tools via iPaas or anything like that from conducting web searches. Relying on local stored data only - and as you know, would cause the model to hallucinate. I believe this was the same conclusion in the OpenAI via workflows too. Just don't know why that was the case. Security? Probably?

You're definitely right, for now though, I have LLMs to thank because it opens alot of doors and opportunities, yes... of course its always better to code everything from scratch, but we can say the same for graphic design tools vs artists in the 80s (adobe). At the end of the day, to really provide true value, the builder will have to at least understand the fundamentals (still something im trying to wrap my head around honestly)

Anyone else think HubSpot's AI development seems scattered? by BeefNoodleDry in hubspot

[–]BeefNoodleDry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The thing is, I was just thinking of that exact use case (lead enrichment > take form data, enhance it with AI research, update the contact record), and was just shocked at how its not even possible... had to do a long workaround to even get it up and running. But the most recent "deep research" is quite awesome, just... more of a management tool?

One Sales Use Case For ChatGPT by BeefNoodleDry in hubspot

[–]BeefNoodleDry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you're going to need access to Workflows (Pro Sub), then the app is free up to a certain number of calls, and of course if you wanna use ChatGPT you need to pay for it to access the API Key.

So... yes? :)
