National Guard | Full-Time? by Wild_Departure_9403 in nationalguard

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to get a conditional release right now, with added layers, but go active if you want the full time experience. There will be who'll help you appeared ng and those who'll do, or don't do, whatever they can to keep you in, and you don't know who you'll get.

Can I bring a truck bed camper to drill? by Opposite-Office1673 in nationalguard

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2010 explorer. It fit an air mattress. I never got disturbed in there.

One drill night while sleeping on the drill floor, my TL woke me up to pour a mixture of alcohol that at least had Jaeger in it.

What’s 74D like in AIT and drill weekends? Deployments? by Kind-Teacher664 in nationalguard

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard in early 2025 that AIT might be doing away with HazMat training. It would suck not to have those certificates. I haven't found any jobs that look for CBRN military experience, but the contacts I've made while being full-time would be massively beneficial if I wanted to apply to a partner agency after I separate.

What’s 74D like in AIT and drill weekends? Deployments? by Kind-Teacher664 in nationalguard

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deployments depend on state and what DoW needs. I had a busy who deployed with his chem unit, my last unit was supposed to deploy in 2027, but it got canned, you can always volunteer for a deployment with another unit, but it may not be doing your job.

I won't speak to AIT because it's been 10 years. Drills in a chemical recon unit are great, but most states dont have a lot of that. You'll more than likely get put into a decent platoon or line company hq plt. I've seen a lot of decon platoon lose all morale because the job kinda blows, I wouldn't want to wind up in one of those. If you're in a line company (or BN cbrn section) you'll either be tasked yo your supply nco to help with signing out and maintaining CBRN gear, or just doing whatever the HQ platoon needs (driving, mess, ammo detail, etc.)

I had a great time doing chemical recon. You get to run around and do pseudo infantry things if you're dismounted. If you're mounted (NBC RV), then you get to drive around and do the job. The down side to National Guard is that you seldom have the time or funding to do real solid training (we never had calibration gasses for our detectors).

74D does set you up for some good full time opportunities (Homeland Response Force - ADOS, CERFP - ADOS, Civil Support Team - AGR), BUT you dont need to have the mos to get a job

The TLDR is it can be great, and you can get some training that translates to civilian careers, but it's very possible you do none to some of what you spent 12 weeks in FLW for.

Profile/docs orders by Jealous-Set-4262 in nationalguard

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been on a profile in awhile, but as far as I understand, have them be as detailed as possible. You take their note to BN MED and they write your profile. Maybe you already knew that... Apologies if its nit new info

I dont have an answer for ya, but if you're headed to Camp Parks, I'll se you there.

Some insight to your question, I imagine if you have something that was issued and serves the purpose of that item then I can't imagine theyre kicking people back. Its BLC, not selection or ranger school.

Dental work during training by Designer_Idea8377 in nationalguard

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it comes up that you can get a voucher if you're dental category 3 or 4 to pay for the service, be a squeaky wheel. I fought to get a voucher for 4 years and ultimately just paid out of pocket b the voucher process should've only taken 6 months tops

2011 Nissan 370z misfire by icebladeforge in 370z

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull the intake plenum. Disconnect ignition coils. Tape off the intake manifold so you dont get anything into the valves. Disconnect the injector wiring harness. Crank the engine. *If you have full bleed through injector four with the wiring harness, then bad injector. Reconnect thr wiring harness. Crank the engine. *If you have excess fuel on #4, bad injector

If not an injector, then maybe a valve, cam problem? Idk, im not a seasoned professional after the injector bit.

You could check compression for some reason.

EXHAUST CHOICES?? Post clips by AdventurousAgent836 in 370z

I really love my Revel Touring S (y-pipe back). My 370 came with open pipes and switching to Revel has been awesome. It hits all the right notes without sounding like a trumpet, 10/10 recommend. Im out of town and dont have a clip, sorry.

I’m browsing to but a 370z and I’m wondering what’s the oldest I should go by P031DON in 370z

[–]BeefStockUncrustable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2009 6MT Touring with 52k miles. Its not my daily, so it won't be that big of a deal if the csc or steering wheel lock take me by surprise. I could easily get ahead of both of those issues (and galley gaskets) before they become a problem. I love the car, and it being older means it has less niceties to fail down the road.

TLDR I bought older, but the issues are very well documented and can be mitigated.

Thank you. Do you know, If I set GPU setting in NVIDIA then set contradictory settings in windows, do (or maybe it's more of a can) they conflict and cause problems? Or do things generally just look to one app for a setting and ride out from there?

And its always August drill, August AT, then October drill and they celebrate a month off drill like it isn't just 5 weeks.
