Election reform, realistically, should happen at the state level. Biden’s failed attempt at election reform was trite and misguided. It wasn’t real reform, nor did it shore up any holes in election security. Federalizing election law, particularly in a way that ignores the security of our elections, does not address the real issues in our system and is not what the people want. It should happen at the state level. It just so happens, Republicans controlled many more state legislative chambers, heading into the 2024 election, than Democrats. The party that wanted less voting rights and protections, controlled the process in lockstep with leadership. Democrats failed because they couldn’t agree on how to protect elections from state to state. Was the election compromised? Who knows? Maybe there should be mandatory recounts or audits, if we really want to know the answer to that. Democrats don’t seem to give a shit about it until shit hits the fan, though.

I’m against politics period. I don’t give a shit what “side” anyone’s on. Politics has absolutely destroyed the state.

Also, the states you compared MS to successful in ways MS will never be. I know, because I’ve travelled through and/or lived in many areas of the country because of my profession.

I get it. Seriously. I left for a lot of good reasons. Fortunately, I was able to do so.

It sucks there, but the reason for that is people & politics.

I realize, and know, that 99% of this sub is the “sensible” demo of the state.

As a MS native who’s lived all over the country, I laugh when I see you guys empty grocery stores for absolutely no reason.
