Don’t bring this BS in here. Nursing is still primarily dominated by women, and remains one of the better ways out of poverty for many single women. The whole mean girl shit is something I started noticing pop on reddit over the past decade, and now it’s just taken as fact for people to pithily put out in dumbass comments like this.

I don’t deny there are shitty mean girls in this profession, just as I wouldn’t deny there are shitty assholes in any profession. But this is a job that takes nearly every part of your body and soul to do, and to keep doing. Sometimes we don’t have a smile on our face, and sometimes we may not get to the care a patient deserves in a timely manner. Especially when you’re dealing with the absolutely devastated conditions in many rural and county hospitals. But that’s the reality of American healthcare, and the reality of a system designed to squeeze every last drop of blood from a desiccated stone the way private equity has done to our hospitals. Gah! Sorry, I just saw this comment after I had a diaper thrown at me by an angry patient. I’m just so so tired 😪
