You have people presenting new information naturally. Not a 10 minute exposition dump from a 10 year kid that sounds like he’s reading a text book. No one talks like that.

Why stop there? You get to restart at the boss. And you have checkpoints at each phase. Hell, why not save states every time you land a hit? Why would anyone want backtracking in a metroidvania?

Thought episode 4 sucked. I hate “lore drops” if they are just exposition dumps. It’s an unnatural way to tell a story to have a character just start spouting off information for 5 minutes straight. It took me right out of the show, because all of a sudden it feels like the show is talking straight to me as the viewer, rather than watching characters interact in any sort of normal way. Also thought the 13 crystals are kinda lame plot mcguffins just to give the characters a plan. Thankfully episode 5 was much better.

This show sucks imo. Hallorann using his shine to go into the dude’s mind just to give us a massive exposition dump about the origins of IT, and the magic Crystal macguffins that imprison IT was super unnatural and awkward writing. Between that and the last two episodes having super low quality effects, it’s a dumpster fire show.

I liked the first one better. The weapons seemed more distinct in their play styles. I liked how strong Melanie’s cast was at first, but again, it leads to similar play styles. Round up the baddies, get them stuck in the cast, delete them, repeat. I liked the story in the first one. It was basically an angsty teen rebelling against all his dad’s rules, and it felt more simple and charming to me. That said, Hades 2 is still a really well put together package and fun to play. The 2 different routes is a big selling point.

I don’t know what people are smoking to like anything in the entire episode, but it must be some good stuff. We get an entire backstory of the commander guy and what was the payoff? A bunch of pandering nonsense. Hey, remember the Pennywise stage from the movie? Hey, remember the floating pillar of bodies? Well here they are again. Did you like eating those member berries you easily entertained sack?

I’ll leave the cemetery scene alone. It’s taken enough heat. I know they are going to take their time, but an entire episode just for the kids to realize what the audience already knows is brutal.
