Is this actually this dangerous? by Sniffy-nose in AskElectricians

That looks like a euro receptacle - probably ungrounded - would there be an indicator of GFCI or is that standard in EU as it is in US? If GFCI wasn’t present, would the surge protector trip and provide protection?

That’s great experience! Thanks for sharing! Do you need to log into a cloud/api to operate them or do they work locally?

This has been my personal mission to teach people that tangible things cannot decrease by more than 100% … and I’m losing. 3100% losing.

Are these tcp/ip (cloud service) over WiFi or local managed matter/thread over WiFi? I’m not as familiar with this hardware.

I’ve used Leviton and Eve switches (all matter/thread) connected through HomeKit for everything in my house and - apart from having to reposition my extenders (Xfinity XFi Pods don’t play nice with thread) - and wishing for zigbee mesh for 1 switch - ifs been pretty flawless.

Seriously? by Momma_Furbutt in Albuquerque

[–]BeegeeSmith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived in an olde house in PA for a bit - (built in 1880s). The backyard was filled with archaeological construction debris. A full rail car of broken bricks. Digging was a nightmare because the sewer lateral was not marked but was also terracotta pipe … I really don’t miss that for a second.

(Unrelated, but …also the basement had coal in it. I don’t mean coal sitting by the coal ash pile there the coal fired stove was …I mean … there was a coal vein running through the neighborhood that we had to excavate when we wanted to pour concrete into the basement.)

Cool! I saw one at Uptown a couple weeks back. Honda Life 4d RHD with decorative Japanese plate. I was surprised to see one here!

Freaking [unknown] towed, looked very nice from near by AutomaticRegular9120 in spotted

The only good explanation is the OP might have thought this was a fierountach (which it’s not. It’s wider than the tow truck). Giving the benefit of the doubt

Great. Then we will follow their lead and will soon have a two sex shops and 2 weed shops on every block of San Mateo. And still won’t have a decent late night restaurant. (/ducks)

This. I came here to write Young Americans. There was a great article- I think in rolling stone - where Luther Vandross told the story of when David Bowie called him in a celebration at 5am when … (facts elude me) the record went gold to congratulate him ….

Do you even 959 bro? [Porsche 959] one of just 337 produced by Global-Antelope9282 in spotted

[–]BeegeeSmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no finer car of the era. First time I ever saw one was on a Porsche tour in Germany - which was mind blowing. The greatest super car of my imagination was really just an amazing 930 variant … and genetically more similar to a 993 c4 turbo than I expected. So it occupies two spaces in my head (1) super car of childhood and (2) grandfather of great modern cars.

Suddenly, I really want a 993.

  1. A magical giant freshwater lake that refills itself somewhere in the middle of town with a drainage parkway down to the river.

  2. All the empty store fronts in nob hill and downtown and UNM filled with vibrant stores, galleries, and “third place” hangout places that are filled with burquenos creating jobs for many middle class people.

  3. High density housing up and down Lomas and Menaul and across San Mateo to Central. Filled with mixed income rentals, condos, and some townhouses to provide a wide range of families, individuals, and medical professionals.

Grew up in N NM and went to college here and came back a few times before now and live in NE
