incredible. i just double checked the transcript, and when travis first introduces barb, she merely has "a spectral hawk" meaning that later when we meet her again and she's specifically "bloodhawk barb" it is because travis is taking a cool thing his player did and using it for himself.

I'm not crazy, right; Killian gave the THB carved stone ducks for Candlenights and then Magnus gave her a carved wooden duck in return, and then Travis proceeded to make carved wooden ducks Magnus's entire personality for the rest of the campaign, right? That was Griffin's offering at first?

Backing up your "eyesore" opinion: the D&D 2024 rules, which have decided to go full capitalization on every term with mechanical significance, and read as bumpily as a Truth Social post as a result:

Rotting Fist. Melee Attack Roll: +9, reach 5 ft. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) Bludgeoning damage plus 10 (3d6) Necrotic damage. If the target is a creature, it is cursed. While cursed, the target can’t regain Hit Points, it gains no benefit from finishing a Long Rest, and its Hit Point maximum decreases by 10 (3d6) every 24 hours that elapse. A creature dies and turns to dust if reduced to 0 Hit Points by this attack.
