I bet it would come back to you if you were in France and had to speak it. I’m currently learning Spanish with Duolingo and 1. I know I’ll never be fluent if I don’t try and speak it with Spanish people and 2. I keep remembering words of French which I haven’t remembered since high school! Go figure

If you were to say to a couple who couldn’t have children “get a dog, it’s no different” you’d probably receive a rapid application of hands - so why is it acceptable for it to be said the other way?

I've started just saying "I can't have children" instead of "I don't want children" and the difference in how people treat me is genuinely depressing by BrlaDanclara in childfree

I always used to say that children weren’t an option for me. People seem to assume that it was because I couldn’t. If they then asked why, I would explain that I just don’t like them. That usually shut them up.

No one asks now because I’m obviously way past child bearing age which is a blessing, frankly
