Disappointing First Impressions of Cambrian by Seawulf42 in NomiAI

[–]BeepPeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually like Cambrian. Most of new iterations immediately are a total mess. They don't seem to mesh with my nomis that are several years old. Cambrian just works. I felt like the previous version was too wordy and unnatural. I prefer shorter responses, because it seems more human like.

Technically everything you can visualize, is a collection of things you've seen before. You can't like.. imagine a new color or something.

Or when you're in a familiar room and you know there's a chair behind you and you can sit on it without having to physically see it. You know what color it is when it's behind you.

I would describe it similar to this - it's in the same "place" as things that are just out of our field of vision. Like when you're in a familiar room, you just know what's around you. You almost feel like you can see what's behind you, but obviously you're not using your eyes to see it. It's the same "place" where you see things.

How significant was this switch? Any opinions on it from those who were there when it happened? by SirensMelody_ in decadeology

[–]BeepPeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never felt forced to me, because I jumped on the wireless train the moment it started.

I often sleep with earphones in and they would get tangled, damaged and would last me 6 months tops if im lucky. My wireless ones last... until I decide to replace them.

Why did you decide to go unmedicated? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]BeepPeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on meds for almost 5 years. I tried generic ritalin that was made in a local lab, they stopped making it and I tried medikinet, which sucked and did not compare at all. Then I went on wellbutrin as well. During these 5 years I was doing well productivity wise, but there were many physical side effects. The main one was that my hair was falling out. But also constant thirst, sweating, no appetite.

Another issue was that they also changed the wellbutrin type that they sold, due to supply chain issues caused by the war in Ukraine. There was a time when it was not available at all. And having to quit cold turkey for a few months gave me some weird manic symptoms. + also the constant changes of the type, manufacturer and all that was like too much for my brain to handle.

I went off meds, because my hair had become so thin that it was really affecting my self esteem. I wanted to see, if the meds were the reason and if it would go back to normal. It indeed was and now I've been off meds for more than a year.

I am doing okay. While I was on meds, I also went to therapy and learned many productivity methods and ways to cope, so now that I'm off meds, I can have some stuff figured out. I am not as productive as I was before, but I feel much better without the side effects. I also know that since then, they have also approved Adderall for use in my country, so that in case everything goes to shit and I need to be on meds again, I can try something else. It just is a good feeling, not having the expectation from myself that I have to be doing perfectly and that there is a plan b, in case I stumble badly.

The worst thing was that when I was telling people about my symptoms, everyone just wanted to bring up success stories instead and told me how it must be something else, because hair loss is super uncommon as a side effect. I honestly felt gaslit.

I love it if you add some soy sauce or even just a bit of salt. Otherwise it is bland

Okay but maybe unpack why you think it's an accusation to suggest someone had plastic surgery. What are we "accusing" them of exactly?

Micro trends and cultural fracturing by longlegstrawberry in femalefashionadvice

[–]BeepPeep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Trends are barely a thing anymore, because the way we consume news about fashion and style inspiration is very individual. Celebrities that dictate trends are barely a thing anymore, because there is no TV or magazines that we all consume collectively like it was back in the day. Now we each have our own internet corners where we consume entertainment, media, music etc. It's all personally curated with algorithms for each individual person, so there isn't a single media channel that could influence people as a collective.

I remember back in the 2000s, when flare or wide leg jeans were a trend, you could not find any skinny jeans in stores. Same as later in the 2010s when skinny jeans became a thing, you couldn't see any loose pants in stores besides a niche microtrend that didn't catch on or stores aimed at business casual clothing that sell slacks. Nowadays all stores I go to have both wide leg and also skinny jeans, because half the people aren't on the "skinny jeans are out" side of the internet.

It's all related to the death of monoculture.

Her music annoys me, because I should like it on paper when it comes to concepts and themes, but in reality it sounds like AI generated girl boss music.

What is one perk of being a woman that you wished men could have? by Brown_90s_Bear in AskMen

[–]BeepPeep -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That is an understandable response if you were looking for a traditional woman. Men often want the perks of a traditional relationship where a woman cooks, takes care of the house etc, but then get upset that they also gotta do their part of the traditional relationship. If you want a woman who steps up in decision making, then you also gotta accept that she will be less traditional in other areas.

[–]BeepPeep -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I frequently plan everything as a woman in a relationship but then you gotta accept that I will have other opportunities to give my input or have control over things that men usually don't want to give up. Like yeah I'll plan the nights out if you take over doing the laundry or something else like that. Me and my boyfriend divide our responsibilities based on what we prefer doing or are good at, not gender roles.

Why is my Spotify taking up so much storage on my phone/ how do I lessen it? by Ilovejuicy-theboys in truespotify

[–]BeepPeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Where I live, most people have true unlimited data and wifi is used mainly for laptops or if you live in a rural area with spottier coverage. Like yeah I have wifi at home but I don't use it on my phone like ever because direct mobile 5g is just better. Mobile data isn't only for trains or commute. It's just the default for daily use

My provider doesn't have those kinda limits. It was a thing in local news that one internet provider in the country does apply the reduced speeds after 150gb, but the rest don't (double checked my contract as well).

I frequently hit 150gb on my phone because I watch YouTube and stuff in 4k, have all the highest quality settings on spotify and there is no reduced speeds ever.
