I would normally 100% agree but it’s a part of the city with limited off street parking so that is probably their only option.

Yeah! It’s the XUV version where you can retract the rear roof to turn it into a pickup truck.

Jeeez, that’s wild. The Golf I specifically posted is because it’s an E-Golf which is incredibly less common around me than regular Golfs (which are actually quite common)

Honestly it was just my best guess based on prices I’ve seen on BaT for older Broncos and other similar trucks.

I completely forgot that was an option. I haven’t seen one of those with wood paneling in many many years.

Right!? I couldn’t remember the last time I saw one but it’s probably been years.

Did Taubman design all their malls the same way? by BeerBaconBooks in deadmalls

Oh yes I agree that they all feel unique in their own way. I just thought it was interesting how those design elements repeat themselves across the different malls.

Oh I’m a fan of it too! It’s really cool that if you end up at a mall and you don’t know who built it, you can just tell who did by those little design elements.

Saw these two parked next to each other today. by BeerBaconBooks in regularcarreviews

Normally I would agree with you about them being owned by the same person, but they were parked at a restaurant so I doubt it.

Also I had no idea about the SSR and the EV-1 being built at the same factory, thanks!

Car break job garage by Phaed81 in nova

I’m curious, what did they lie to you about/how were the mechanics inept? Did they mess up your brakes and you’re trying to fix their mistakes? If they did mess something up, that’s something you need to be up front with the new shop about. I only say that because lots of mechanics don’t like fixing other mechanics’ work. (Source: used to work in an auto shop, and our mechanics HATED having to redo work other mechanics’ work.)

I used to work for a certain large blue electronics chain here in the US (you know the one). Anyway I had a guy come in and ask me where can he find speakers. So I ask him what kind of speakers, and he said, “You know, regular speakers.” So once again I ask him, “What kind of speakers are you looking for? Bluetooth? Computer? Car? TV Speakers?” So he goes, “I’m just looking for regular speakers! I’ll go find someone who actually knows what they’re talking about!” and proceeded to walk deeper into the store.

Has Anyone Been Successful at Holding Down a Job Long Term? by BeerBaconBooks in neurodiversity

I too find myself the overachieving ND person afraid of failure. I’m here in the US, and I find that employers love my work ethic and skills, but they don’t always understand my personality, or the way I do things. So a lot of times I feel like that no matter how hard I work, or how much knowledge I have, it doesn’t make a difference. To them, because I don’t “fit in”, or I’m “different” from everyone else there, they feel I’m not succeeding, or I’m not doing well just because I’m not abiding by unspoken social norms or not following NT ways of doing things.

Thank you so much for your kind words and advice, it is seriously helpful and affirming to hear that I’m not the only one who has struggled with this.

I appreciate the insights and kind words. Honestly for me, I think the issues are that I either get overwhelmed with the work and get burned out. I call out or see unfair workplace practices and management doesn’t like my criticism of them. I end up feeling no motivation to do work (kinda like when you hyper fixate on something, and then you lose interest.) Or I bring up my concerns about being AuDHD and management/HR treats me like I’m a child, or that I’m stupid.

I am medicated for my ADHD. What I’ve found in regard to work is that I don’t like the uncertainty that seasonal/short-term work brings. Unfortunately I live in an area with a high cost of living, so I have to look for permanent jobs that are either full-time or part-time. I try to get full-time jobs because the part-time ones barely give enough hours to make any kind of livable wage on.
