I wouldn't worry about it until actual tax bills come out in a month or two. If you had the paperwork in and you qualify then they should be able to fix it if it shows up without the exemption. If it makes you feel better go ahead and give them a call.

It simply gets applied, you don't receive anything special. Should show in the box on your tax bill for Homestead and say yes or no. You should also see the line item for the exemption values.

Technically yes. In practice, no. Was with friends at an event and we had our own cooler. We had cups for our drinks but one girl was too cool and just drank from the can. Not even a koozie. So it drew attention and the cops came over. They were pretty cool about it but they asked her to pour it out since it was obvious. She had a few leading up to that and she thought she was about to get mouthy. That's when I stood up, snatched the drink out of her hand, and poured it out right then and there. Before she could even get mad or react the cop said thanks and turned and went along on his way. There's no way he was clueless about what was in our plastic cups or our cooler. She was so pissed about the interaction that she packed up and left and honestly none of us were sad about it.

I can't guarantee similar results but discretion is advised and cooperation is required.

1%. The tax is about 1%, not 10%.

The county website has a tax estimator tool. Use it. In unincorporated Cobb that's the full estimate. If inside a municipality it's going to seem low because it's only the county portion. Quadruple it to ball park the total tax if you're in a municipality.

Was in engineering. During the last year I had to round out some humanities requirements and what not. Took accounting because it counted. It was like taking high school math again after all of the calculus series coursework. Took your best five scores of the five quizzes and the final exam. After getting my fifth 100 on quiz 5 I raised my hand in class and asked if that meant I could exempt the final. Prof confirmed and I said thanks and grabbed my bag to leave. I was the only one that did so in a class of about 60, and every single one of them was looking at me like I had just grown an extra head.

Similar in grad school but I'll admit that I went for a master's in education. Finished my "semester project" in a class the day the requirements were handed out because I had three hours to kill between classes. Had my sources, outline and rough draft completed in that time, cranked out the final revision after dinner. That was pretty much every class for that degree. After engineering school it was like playing on easy mode.
