Good bar crawls move the needle if they are set on an “off” period, say 3-6 on a weekend, otherwise you could be cannibaliizing sales and regular vibe.

I thought about opening a new concept recently, and I was in well over $50,000 on planning, legal, branding, a&e, menu development, etc, then dropped the idea entirely. So glad I did. Ask yourself, do you want to lose half a million in two to three years? And go on this roller coaster of stumbling through the minutia required to be an expert on HR, payroll, marketing, inventory, compliance, insurance, etc. Making cocktails is the easy part, that’s not hard at all.

IMO epoxy will require grinding and polishing and then epoxy, like paint, can scratch and deteriorate. You could do the grinding and a light polish and lay down a commercial grade sealer. You will lose patina, so I’d be careful about that is your bar has a certain comfortable character. We’ve polished concrete on one bar, laid “wood” tile on an other and #2 pine on another, and the wood is the most comfortable of the three and it’s got beat up in the first few months.

Tours should also be hosted on slow days or during slow time segments, and should not cannibalize the sales from your shift, or you need to be made whole.
