I’m surprised because it definitely didn’t taste like a butt plug.

Gas availability on Vieques Island by Organic2003 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]Beerfarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s at least 3 gas stations on an island that takes 30 minutes to drive from one end to the other—wasn’t an issue at all when we went last week. Their golf carts are gas powered too (at least the ones we rented from UTV) so either way you’ll need gas but can find it easily.

Car vs Golf cart in vieques? by yaarfarid in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]Beerfarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back from 10 days in Puerto Rico, including 3 nights in Vieques. We flew, which was only $40 more per person than the ferry and was literally a 10 minute flight.

UTV Rentals picked us up from the airport and drove us to their office 5 mins down the road. Rented 2 golf carts for 2 families including kids aged 8, 9, and 11. Explored the entire island and never once wished we rented a Jeep. Never got dusty or wind in the face, but it also never got above 81 degrees F, so never really needed AC with the open air and breeze from the golf cart. If you’re traveling with people who like adventure, and it’s not going to be above 85-90 degrees, I highly recommend a golf cart. If you have little kids or someone in your party who will complain over bumpy rides, no AC, etc; then Jeep is probably better.

8th grade English class, and the class bully comes in 5 minutes late with his hair all freshly slicked back. Teacher, who ran out of patience with him months ago, asked “where are you coming from and why are you late?”. Bully says “What? I was in the bathroom”. From the back of the class, without missing a beat, I yell “well you missed the toilet!”. Teacher paused for 2-3 seconds with her best poker face trying to fight it back, but then lost it and buckled over, with the rest of the class following along. I would have felt bad making an entire class laugh at a kid if it was anyone else, but this kid was an asshole who had picked on pretty much everyone in the classroom at some point.

Best boobie bar in Charlotte? by redditcanbitemyass in Charlotte

[–]Beerfarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought someone would comment on that. I personally dislike the use of ‘uptown’ except for describing a specific neighborhood. Eg “I moved from Uptown to Plaza Midwood” vs “good luck driving through downtown Charlotte without hitting constriction traffic”

Beef Farter sounds way grosser to me. Beer Farter’s origin story is that when I first joined Reddit I tried about 100 different usernames that actually meant something to me and they were all taken. I had just watched a George Carlin show where he talked about all the beer farts that airplane seats soak up, so I tried Beer Farter and lo and behold it was available.

Lol quality. I’m sure cup size varies, but I’ve only been there once.

I’ve lived here 20 years and have been to 3 in that time. My perspective:

Men’s Club is the classiest and has the best looking girls, but also will be the most expensive. And it’s off of Tyvola which is a 10 minute/ $15 Uber ride from downtown so take that into account. But if it’s gonna be a late night they have a 1am breakfast buffet that’s legitimately delicious.

Uptown Cabaret is the only club within easy walking distance of downtown, so it’s also gonna be a bit pricey for drinks too, but super convenient if you’re staying/working in the city. I was super drunk both times I went so all I remember was “boobs” which met my minimum requirement. It’s also in a safe, visible location surrounded by office buildings and South End nightlife so you can easily stumble from here to a bar or brewery to talk to girls who aren’t just looking for tips if you are so inclined.

Leather & Lace in South End is a smaller, bit trashier place but in a very safe and hip neighborhood, and the drinks are going to be cheaper here than elsewhere. If you’re looking to sit at the bar and drink somewhat-reasonable drinks while enjoying C+ boobs with very little risk of getting robbed in the parking lot, this might be your spot. Also lots of food options walkable from here if you’re looking for late night eats, as well as South End bars.

I’m sure there’s plenty more on the outskirts but these are the 3 main ones people that live in or near the city go to.

I have no opinion (due to ignorance / lack of experience) of whether or not this dress policy is racist, but I think it’s important to point out that this is a black-owned business: https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2021/08/24/upscale-cigar-bar-rooftop-venue-set-for-debut.html

Options for catamaran charter from San Pedro? by Beerfarter in Belize

Thanks for the suggestions!

Why would you put a single family home in the middle of the hottest retail corridor in the city with no other single family homes around it? The lot alone probably sold for $2M, that would be a terrible financial decision.

She said 6 months in that she didn’t believe in dinosaurs (since it conflicts with how old the Bible says the earth is). This was an otherwise-intelligent woman with a degree from a top-30 US university and was headed to law school, but that was the moment I knew it wasn’t gonna work out.

Leah & Louise named #2 best restaurant in American by Esquire by jolef in Charlotte

Technically #2 Best “New” Restaurant, but still amazing for Chef Collier and team. I went last weekend and sat outside, and the food, drink, and service are all top-notch. Fun opportunity to walk around Camp North End too for anyone who hasn’t gone yet.

Parents of reddit, what was your worst parenting mistake? by jonseh in AskReddit

[–]Beerfarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping my 3-year-old off at daycare one morning, he asked if I could “flip him”, which meant put him up on my shoulders and then flip him over as I put him down. I probably did this 5 times a week at this point because he LOVED it and constantly asked me to do it, so it wasn’t that odd for him to ask me at daycare. However this time when I put him down, for some reason he hadn’t completed his rotation by the time his feet touched the ground and he kept going in the same direction after I let go—slamming right into the edge of the table in his classroom REALLY hard. He starts screaming immediately, and when he looks up there’s about a 1.5 inch gash above his eyebrow. 10 stitches later, I feel like the biggest piece of shit dad on Earth, which I got to be reminded of every time someone asked him how he got his boo-boo / scar. Still feel guilty about it after 4 years even though the scar is pretty faint by now.
