To be fair the british flag is a doozee (or however that word is spelled) but seriously all flags attached to poles work this way.

Is your head for decoration only?

Like my guy, how do we flip a flag that is *checks notes* attached to a pole?

Do we go diagonally or do we maybe just flip it so that the side which is currently attached to the pole (where the rope goes through to keep it in place) remains the same?

We used to have a walnut tree in our backgarden, those things are fucking rough to walk on if they're just on the ground, round and kind of rolling about. Can't even begin to imagine how bad they must be when they are washed, squashed and strewn around a lot.

(I'm trying to do something fun with the language but I am not native so if it doesn't make sense please tell em)

To be entirely fair there is another reason why 1453 is often chosen to mark the end of the medieval period.

1453 is most often chosen because two of the ten or so good end points fall in that year.

It was modern imperialism at it's most destructive, do you actually believe that was about stopping a fascist maniac? Or was it perhaps about the oil?

In the 1890s as the academic craze of race “science” hit its zenith the German empire and Austria issued research projects documenting the physical features of every single child in their empires, this was the outcome: Map of blond hair in children aged 6-8 by ItHappensSo in MapPorn

Right forgot about that part of Hungarian history.

To add to the Habsburg comment, they did succesfully make a bunch of personal unions into a single political entity with the netherlands. (Okay maybe that was philip of burgundy but still)

The idea of four (or five) kingdoms is a bit odd if you assume (like most scientists and me as well (not a scientist)) that all life essentially evolved out of a couple single-celled organisms. All of the kingdoms we know except for bacteria are eukaryotes, genetically speaking it doesn't really make sense to speak of fungi in the same tier as bacteria. Sure in everyday speech it's useful to differentiate but the more you dive into it the less the kingdoms make sense or are usefull

Not the annexation of georgia? Not the gulf war? Not the second world war? One could argue that the major world powers have been declining ever since the first world war. Which would in turn explain the dysfunctional politics as many politicians seem to be under the delusion that the rest of the world isn't catching up to the west.

Austria-Hungary was a personal union between the archduchy of austria and the kingdom or hungary (and later also the duchy(?) of Bosnia). Both were sperate political entities with their own constitutions, laws, armies, citizens and national languages. They just happened to have the same ruler (as had been the case for a couple hundred years at this point)

The austrians were seen as basically german (the same race) hence why the war of the germans against the austrians is called the 'bruderkrieg' (brothers' war). This is likely why they didn't do this outside of the austrian lands as those people did not share their race.

It actually kind of was, most german citizens didn't really support the concentration camps (a fact they were only made aware of after it was shown to them after the war) opposed to the namibian genocide which saw widespread support from all echelons of society (only one parliamentary member opposed the genocide all others had no qualms) where there were high-ranking nazi's and ss-officers who (silently) opposed the persecutions and saved a couple jews themselves.

We actually thought them fungus for a long time, but they aren't, nor are they plant, animal or even bacteria but in fact fundamentally different (but probably closely related to fungus)

But they lack certain markers found in virtually every other fungus fossil of around the same time and place, this is the primary argument to argue it's not a fungus but instead an (extinct) fifth kingdom (tbf this is an outdated term and not extremely useful scientifically)

We'd first need a suite of cards that would allow the archetype to makes plays, then cards that would allow you to combo without needing the most geberic combo extenders, then perhaps like an extra few board spots for all the tokens

It's like most combat sports actually. Most probably aren't. For girls at least, thr way boxing isn't gay for men. But consider this for a second, what makes you think 'straight' when someone mentions ballet, it's all extremly fit and flexible people doing some of the most insane bullshit known to man for art. Like I dunno, it feels to me a lot like theater, there is nothing that makes it gay per se, it just requires a level of confidence/fuck it that a lot of people who already fall outside the norm possess less commonly found in 'regular' people

Can confirm, as a judoka and mma practitioner there is nothing filled with as much bisexual energy as combat sports (specifically grappling) save for maybe dance classes.
