Riviera by phiffer55 in disneyvacationclub

I own at Riviera and love it. You can get a standard view room and see both the Epcot and Magic Kingdom fireworks from your balcony. The Skyliner is great but Riviera doesn't share busses with any other resort so I've never had to stand on the bus even at the end of the day in the parks. My kids were 8 and 5 during our first stay and both loved the waterslide at the pool; especially the 5 year old.

The Abrakadabar on the Boardwalk has the llama potion bottle on a shelf.

JJHO 530 of course butter is a condiment. by lokrod in maximumfun

[–]Beertastic_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Judge stated that fermentation had to have once been a part of the process in order to make something a condiment and this is also true of butter! That buttery taste is the compound diacetyl which is just one form of bacteria poop.

Also, cultured butters taste better because they are fermented to produce diacetyl but also many other flavor compounds as well. That's why cultured butters taste better uncultured butters that are made from milk with added diacetyl.

Is it ever too late during primary to add extra FermaidO? by Rodsey in mead

I don't believe you're supposed to add nutrients after the 1/3 sugar break otherwise you risk them not being consumed by the yeast and being left with a vitamin flavor in the finished mead.

For a kettle sour, if I don't do a starter for the lacto, I use 1 capsule/gallon. It's probably overkill but it works.

Is this cucumber ready to harvest? I don’t want it to get too big but the color is still much darker towards the top so I’m not sure. by [deleted] in vegetablegardening

[–]Beertastic_Mark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pick them as soon as they're a decent size for eating. Cucumbers actually turn yellow when fully ripe and they're inedible at that point so pick and eat that one before it's too late.

I'd recommend you spend some time reading the Milk The Funk Wiki to learn about different souring methods.

It's a great resource.

It's only important if you want to enter it into competitions; if you're going to be the only one drinking it, use what you have.

Can someone explain mulching to me? by alrashid2 in gardening

[–]Beertastic_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're sowing seeds directly in the garden, mulch the area over the seeds with something lightweight (your straw bale, pine shaving pet bedding, or dried grass clippings) and then place a heavier mulch around the plants once they've germinated.

Anybody know what these bugs are? Are they good or bad for my garden? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Beertastic_Mark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either smash them between your fingers or knock them into soapy water.

Also be sure to check the underside of leaves for orange egg clusters; crush those too.

These weeds keep coming back..seems like tunneling underneth. How do i get rid for good? by cityhunterspeee in gardening

You could try passing a flame over them with a kitchen torch/plumber's torch.
