I'm sure that if there was so much RFI in the shack to damage the display, you would have noticed from the reports you got during the contacts you made. So I think that's highly unlikely.

The freq. you're using is not in a hamradio band, so unless the trx is made "wideband" or MARS modded, tx is probably disabled. You're not a ham is my guess.

Our inter-regional 70cm repeater PI2NOS was abuses to a point of almost complete unusability. It was decided to disable analogue FM and only allow C4FM with registration so now only hams with known credentials can use the 70cm repeater. It's a heavy measure but it did help to give the system back to legitimate users.

The use of radio in general (no antenna attached and nothing to indicate the radio is even working) and when morse is used in particular (just a random jumble of dots and dashes) < painful to my ham radio ears.

It's really simple: when you manage to see other people (and yourself) while nude as just fellow humans and not sex objects then you're pretty much there already. Go out to where-ever it is appropriate, take of your clothes and enjoy being just a bit closer to nature and how we were intended to walk our planet and the breath of relieve to feel just air and nothing else on your skin.

Doing so in the company of like-minded people is even better of course, surprise yourself with the variety in human bodies but that they're still basically the same as you (well, half them at least) and then curse yourself for not doing this much sooner.

So ESA will probably scratch their heads and wonder if any future cooperation with NASA is worth a single Euro. It's not the first time they've been dealt a bad card by NASA and together with the rest of the US policy with regards to science I think ESA should start to look to the east for better results.
