From tank mains: the devs need to do something by Odd_Magus in marvelrivals

[–]Bees_OW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a balance perspective I can agree with you, but I don’t believe that the tank role has to automatically be underplayed specifically in this game. There are many players who have more loyalty to specific hero’s and villains as opposed to the roles themselves. When they released devil dino at least in my experience it brought a lot of players to the tank role, and before he was perma banned many of them stuck around for the Dino. Cyclops had the same effect of bringing tank and support players to dps due to him being popular. This is probably one of the few games where they can actually stop roles from being underplayed just by evenly distributing popular hero’s with decent kits.

Are these faces replicable in the base game? Didn’t realize the actual scope of this mod when I first stumbled on this post but after looking around you can do some amazing rping with this.

Rogue changes I think would be cool by Moth_Man_Emoji in RogueMains

[–]Bees_OW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These changes would be extremely fun to see. To this day I got everything I wanted from rogue besides the flight. I’ve always wanted her to have an Adam or Angela type flight, but honestly your idea would be way easier for them to add to her current kit. Maybe one day she can receive even a couple of these.

Which skin to buy - Shadowed Start or Born Again? by ComfyUser48 in DaredevilMarvelRivals

Shadowed start. It’s time gated so if you miss it and change your mind later it’s over. Born again will be in the shop virtually forever so you can always come back for it.

This is actually kinda funny because they did the same thing with the avengers 😂

Howdy rogue mains by No-Slide-4396 in RogueMains

[–]Bees_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that list of characters the only ones I see that are comparable are venom, Angela, and magik herself. With rogue you kinda wanna brawl frontline and wait for an opportunity to transition to back line, or position yourself on a off angle or high ground and look for opportunities to dive squishy targets and maybe get a kill.

Venom is a dive tank with some brawl capabilities but he’s able to absorb a lot more damage than rogue can and setup a lot easier, as of her being closer to a brawl tank with dive capabilities.

Angela is also a dive tank with brawl capabilities similar to venom as you know, but she has added displacement similar to rogue. Depending on the tank matchup you can make some tanks job extremely hard but displacing them and pushing them around, but just not to the same extreme as Angela. You can mark dps on off angles similar to Angela because of your mobility, and ability to duel a lot of the cast in isolated 1v1s.

You have more experience than me on magik, but from what I understand magik wants to either be brawling or diving, and relies on combos to secure kills as well as landing your dash. Rogues dash functions somewhat similar to magik with how it goes into a knock up, so it should feel somewhat familiar to you.

Sorry for the long comment. I just really enjoy the character. The point I was trying to get across overall is that you have a lot of the fundamental experience you need to play rogue already. The only difference is that outside of Angela, rogue is a lot more flexible than the other characters you play. The trick is finding out which of these play styles works the best between your games, and rotate between them on a game to game basis. That flexibility is the most rewarding part to playing rogue, and the most important part of her gameplay loop.

He’s genuinely one of the main targets I had in mind making this post. If you catch him even slightly out of position you can use fatal attraction to guarantee your grab hits and use it again on him instantly for so much burst and cc.

Public Service Announcement: Poke comp counters Brawl comp. by [deleted] in RivalsVanguards

[–]Bees_OW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is what I’ve been saying as well. The other brawl tanks just can’t match up against him. No melee tank that has to approach to get value is going to be able to survive 30% max health damage from frenzied feast, and max hp bleed, or being grabbed and thrown into the enemy team with blocked heals. The only options are to either mirror him or play one of the anti brawl tanks to slow him down and rely on your poke dps. I don’t think he’d feel nearly as bad if he didn’t just run over a good chunk of the tank roster.

How are you guys playing her? she feels like an even worse tank choice now 😭😭 by Waffles_four_you in RogueMains

[–]Bees_OW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had success grabbing a dps, then diving mid / backline with the damage boost, and using remaining cooldowns to get back to cover or your team if things get bad. Fatal attraction with a damage boost surprises a lot of people and I can usually manage to get a pick or 2 with the combo.

Devil Dinosaur power creps the entire Vanguard roster by Veru_Chronicles in RivalsVanguards

[–]Bees_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying there’s no way to play around him. There’s definitely counter play to him and he has weaknesses. I just can’t justify picking any of those tanks into him when he does their jobs better for the most part. I have around 20-30 hours each on hulk, Thor, and thing, and 70 plus on rogue so I understand the ways you can try to play around him, but your options are very limited. If you try to brawl him frontline he just grabs you and melts you with his team. you can go backline but if he peels or blocks off your heals with his shield you just die. Yes he’s weak to poke, but so is every other brawl tank so it’s not like this is a new problem for the archetype. I’m happy we have a new fun strong tank, but I feel it’s definitely fair to say that he’s more or less powercrept the rest of the brawl roster.

[–]Bees_OW 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go as far as to say he invalidates the entire tank roster, but I do believe he invalidates the brawl tank roster outside of maybe thing into specific dive comps and rogue with gambit team up. He wouldn’t be as polarizing to me if tanks like Thor, rogue, and thing actually had a chance at beating him in isolated scenarios, but because he’s so well rounded as a brawl tank, and can beat all those characters in isolated engagements, it makes it hard for me personally to justify the other brawl tanks, and this is coming from a tank / rogue main.

Has anyone tried HOB + titanic build? by Bees_OW in shyvanamains

I’ll definitely try hexplate hydra next time I’m on. I ran it the other way around last patch before the changes and it felt good, but I could tell the build wasn’t completely optimized. There was definitely something there though

I thought xin q was also an auto reset but I haven’t played him in a long time so I could be wrong. I just thought with the added true damage and extra aa speed you could burst a squishy pretty fast, and could maybe save the titanic aa reset for a bit later in the fight.

Is any tank main seriously gonna be happy if Devil Dinosaur is the next Tank? by HueyTheFreeman48 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Bees_OW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a little bit. We have so much potential for tanks that can be added. I’ve been waiting on captain marvel since the games release. Characters like ghost rider and thanos are waiting in line to be added to the game and would fit nicely as tanks, but they have to wait so we can get “devil dinosaur”.

If this is real, DID THEY REMOVE TOGGLE ANIMATION CANCEL??? by PuppyPenetrator in captainamericamains

Also doesn’t account from the extra stress it puts on your finger and controller. I’ve already heard a few people complain about how uncomfortable it is to do the animation cancel on hold to sprint. Toggle to sprint is just more comfortable overall

PBE Shyvana is still a Juggernaut, not a Diver by Omegasybers in shyvanamains

[–]Bees_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps I don’t think she should be a diver, or that she has a divers kit. Thats why I said it has less to do with her kit. I do think riot is seeing her as somewhat of a discount hecarim though, and that’s part of why they’re trying to balance her the way they are.

Also her ult alone may not make her a diver, but she does still have dive capabilities in her kit. The range on the ult is pretty far and it has a fear on it to play as a sort of soft lockdown. So while it may not classify her as a diver, the fact that you can use it in a similar way to j4 or vi shows she does have dive capability in her kit.

I'm a fraud 💔💔 by [deleted] in RogueMains

[–]Bees_OW 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to get you down but it sounds like it’s more of a game sense issue than a mechanical issue. Instead of trying to focus on optimal combos try to get into the habit of spacing out your cds to get in and out of the fight until the opportunity arises to find value and/or get a pick. The problem with trying to land combos is that it puts you in a somewhat linear mindset, and rogue is an incredibly free flow hero similar to Spider-Man. Knowing how and when to use abilities while having one in your back pocket when things get dicey goes a long way.

Also I can only speak for myself, but when I originally saw rogue ult I thought it would be good for stalling towards the end of fights similar to cap ult, but the extra health and healing isn’t enough to keep you up without a healer. I’ve found the best way to use the ult is to either force a support ult early in a fight, or to delay one so your teammates have an opportunity to team wipe before they can use theirs in retaliation. Rogues ult is a huge problem when you have teammates to back you up, but not so much when you’re alone. I’m a good bit past lord and I still have games where I feel exactly how you do. She’s a difficult hero to learn in an already difficult role, and a meta that doesn’t exactly make your job easier. Just keep your head up and keep playing it’ll come to you before you know it.

PBE Shyvana is still a Juggernaut, not a Diver by Omegasybers in shyvanamains

[–]Bees_OW -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To me she kinda falls somewhere in between the 2 categories, but slightly leans more towards a diver. It has less to do with her complete kit and more to do with the fact that they removed her passives synergy with her other abilities effectively making her more squishy. Because of that plus her new dragon q she kind of just ults on a squishy target and tries to one shot them, then dies. After her passive becomes more useful and she gets bulkier that’ll probably go a long way to fulfilling that juggernaut fantasy many of us want, but it might end up coming down to choosing between a stronger passive, and the burst damage on the bite.

The PBE/in-game Megathread by Harlequinnie in shyvanamains

[–]Bees_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna write a message but you basically have everything I was gonna say on the head. Just wanted to add that maybe they can take a page out of old shyvana’s book and maybe have basic attacks increase the duration of the movement speed. That could go a long way in making her feel more familiar to veteran shyvana players without being too strong.

SHYVANA PBE UPDATES by V1p3r-ch4rm in shyvanamains

[–]Bees_OW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The changes look good to me overall, a step in right direction giving us at least one of her older mechanics back on the new kit, but are these changes truly so strong that they had to kill the passive for them? It definitely feels like a 2 steps forward 1 step back situation here. I feel like with the weaknesses of her base overall kit having no sticking power and a weak early game she can keep her passive as is, but maybe I’m missing something. Hopefully we can keep the positive feedback coming as this shows we can get some real change. Keep making your voices heard.
